My Fear had been Realized!

The day i have feared for quite some time has become a reality.

The Day I would be bored of ALL MMO's on the market and have nothing to do.....but wait.  I have tried SOOO many mmo's and some like WoW, CoH and Guild Wars have kept me occupied for a few monthes and then i dropped them.

But 1 MMO could have kept me for year.  It was a sandbox MMO with so many possiblities.  That game is Star Wars Galaxies.  And how all good things come to a end, this end came well to early.  Thanks to those smart ones at SOE.

Now i sit here trying every MMO from EVE to Tabula Rasa nothing keeping my interest.  So now i sit here waiting for Either WAR or AoC(for 360) and have nothing to do but read about how much people are enjoying their mmo's which is a good thing for them.

So until then i simply sit here and wait and pray those games will not dissapoint  and once more will i have a great MMO to enjoy.

Also Im for the heck of it going to post upcoming MMO's im looking forward to but unfortunatly they wont be out till probably 2009.

Marvel Universe Online

Blizzard's New MMO(Please be World of Diablo)

Biowares MMO(Please be KotOR With Sandboxing)

Guild Wars 2

So until then.....

Hold on a minute, gotta go out back and drag in that dead horse...

That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!

Try Pirates of the Burning Sea. I, too, sought refuge after 2005 when the NGE hit. I found it in POTBS.

This is the state of MMOs right now.  Maybe AoC and WAR will change that but only time will tell if they will suck or not.  In the meantime I have rediscovered some good single player games like Half Life2 and FPS games like Team Fortress2, CoD4, UTIII, etc.

PoTBS is a great game but not really a open world MMORPG so I have changed my mind on buying it.  The instancing and the cartoon looking open sea is just simply too much for me.  I am sure however that a lot of people will be playing it and it will be very successful.

Yeah but if for SOME reason WAR and AoC End up sucking someway then what?

We will all be screwed then.  And I swear every korean mmo thats free i tried is seriously so boring i want to die.  And same goes with all the free ones you can just download.  I got excited last night when i downloaded Eve online because i heard it was good and im sure it is.  But its just not the game for me.

Still i wish old SWG was still around.  I keep going back to WoW but everytime i do i get bored after 2 days and waste the other 28.  I just wish BioWares MMO was a sandbox i mean they ALWAYS make good games so why stop here?

    I Guess ill keep waiting.

Since I had enjoyed CoX so much (though there's just not enough of it to enjoy for very long) I was looking forward to MUO.  However, after hearing all sorts of rumours that it had been pulled and reading that 1UP article, I'm not holding my breath.  I'm not a huge 1UP fan but the story was pretty timely.  I'll be glad to see it happen, but if it doesn't, it won't surprise me.

Oh... the article, in case you didn't see it.  :

Nah, its not the year, just everyone is sick of the same old shit being thrown at us. That and i think a lot of people are getting sick of the fantasy genre.

A lot of people usually take a break between mmorpgs. I have taken 6 months to a year between mmorpgs ever since the mud days and Ultima Online. MMORPGs are pretty much the same so if you are bored with one, odds are you will not be too excited about more of the same thing in a different wrapper.

Take a break from mmorpgs and play some other games on the PC or console. There are some really good FPS’s (Call Of Duty 4), RTS’s  (Supreme Commander), and other games such as Civilization 4, the Sims 2, Spore (when it come out). Some really great xbox360 games are coming out this year too like GTA4 and Mercenaries 2.

You can always play a non-MMO RPG like Oblivion, Witcher, or kotor.

Or you can always MUD, there are a few with some big populations left.

But if you want to take a break while you wait, I suggest Civ 4.  After Civ 4 you will laugh when people say MMOs are addictive.

Actually, there's about ten or more 200+ users-online MUDs that I know about, so they're far from dead. I expect MUDs to finally make a larger come-back when they start making their database and building features more easily accessible. :)

Personnally, I return to my best MMO experience when I am bored, that way I support the best game until something better come out.

I may be bored, but there are always new twists to try, new turns to take, new alternatives to consider.  And then, suddenly, I am having a good time and forget that I am bored.

See, it is normal that dust settle down and that you feel less or more tantalized, at such a moment, pick the best MMO, and play it.  I know a guy who has 3 rangers maxed level in old EQ  by Velious release.  I have done and did so many various things in City of Villains, I prolly could show some stuff to about anyone working at Kryptic or NCsoft, even if it may be different stuff for each of these peoples.  Be it a way to conceive and understand the game, an activity, a hunting method...or how some combos are great...and I am sure I have MUCH room to lean a lot more still.

I am looking for new MMOs with avidity, but I am currently enjoying and playing City of Villains.  Will I try a MMO which force me to PvP or raid?  Nope, they lose.  I will stick to CoV until a MMO is worth my time, my trust and my support more then CoV.  New MMOs have to beat City of Villains to win my subscribtion...good luck *****, no other game manage to do that ever.  Any new MMO will be compared, judged and trialed by City of Villains standards.
