Returning vet trial

nobodycoolnobodycool Member UncommonPosts: 82

So I was just wondering if there was a current trial for vets to come back and experience the changes and what not? I find it difficult to truly trust the opinion of all the disgruntled ex-players. Anyone have any ideas?

I didn't see anything about it anywhere, even though I hear a rumor somewhere. Looked around quite thoroughly, and see nada.

AS far as I can tell, the only real new stuff is a lack of population, and a "collection system", which basically has people running the same instances over and over and over again to accumulate points for items sold at specialized vendors. /snore

Yeah...I heard the rumor and found the same. Piss on it then. I suppose I will go back to reading my book. Thanks for the response though.

Supposedly one was on about a month ago, but I wasn't able to get in, and I've opted in to the announcements.

The last one I know took place (because I got in on it) was in August/September of 2007.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

Why would anyone want to go to a party that was about to be over?

    Unaware of the Jestor?

(SWG has been "about to be over" for the last two years.  And it will be all the way up until the Bioware thing goes live -  in about another two years)

I personally feel SOE has given up on vets, so another vet trial may not happen.  Besides, reading a book is always better, regardless.

This is the last vet trial offer that I received.

LMAO!!! They're desperate for subs. 21 days of free game play? I uninstalled this game long ago.

Wasn't the last free 21-day vet trial bugged for many? A lot of vets received the invite but could not log on. My old accounts couldn't log on (no current subscription), but I didn't bother contacting a CSR...it just wasn't worth the aggravation.

I am sure another free invite will be availabe in a couple of months.

Well, this what currently pops on their web site when you go there.

Yeah...the infamous 'Buddy System'. It is more of a way to squeeze more money out of the chump fanbois willing to set up four dummy accounts to get the new in-game items than actually find and retain new subscribers. It also sounds like the credit farmers are having a field day with this to since the buddy tokens can be traded/sold in game for a hefty sum, so either way, $OE gets $$$$$.

I didn't get any invite, but try this: log into your Station account and click on Subscriptions Info. Mine recently came up with "Pending" status, and a note of  "30Day Non-Recurring (expires 1/20/08)". Click on the question mark after Pending, and this popup appears "Subscription is temporarily active, and will move to "Closed" status after all stacked time has expired." I'll have another look at things, maybe this weekend; I was just waiting for the City of Heroes winter event to end first.

Well, to answer the OPs question, I think there is one currently ongoing but dependant on how long you've been gone.I actually just did this an hour ago because of this thread, lol.

My main account, which I logged into last year around june/july to put creds into my houses to make sure they all stood forever, was still closed- no free trial.

My second account, which I don't think I've logged onto for at least a year -honestly think the last time I logged into it was the last time they offered a free trial for vet accounts- free trial was enabled.
