Order Or Destruction? And which Class??

Which side will you choose? Order or Destruction?

And also, which class will you choose on that faction?? Just getting some input on how people are viewing the game, although I know that polls like this have been taken before, feel free to do some more input. Thanks guys :).

I will most likely be doing Destruction and a Dark Elf Sorcerer(ess). DPS was always fun in keep defense in Daoc..  and I'm sure that there will be lots of that. Second choice for me is Orc Choppa cuz he looks like a zerker in daoc.. and those usually melted my face quite fast.

WOO WOO.

    order here . Engineer and the ironbreaker look good on the dwarf side and all of the high elf and empire classes look awsome. looking forward to try warrior priest as main.

    not attracted to many classes on destro , maybe black guard but everyone and there moms are playing one lol. Orcs look not bad. chaos is the worst for me , i woudn't play them even if it made my game subscription free .

    Definitely Order.

    I will likely be a Knight of the Blazing Sun unless their combat mechanics suck. Since they are a chant/twisting career, as far as I know, that may well be the case. If it is a painful/repetitive/unrewarding pain-in-the-ass to twist, then I will not be one.

    Anyway, if not a Knight of the Blazing Sun, then likely a Warrior Priest. If there are too many of those, maybe a Witch Hunter. Bright Wizards do not interest me.

    I refuse to be a prissy High Elf and Dwarfs have never been my thing - I do not like being runty!

    I woudn't call a white lion prissy , more like a cross between a barbarian and an elf .

    KotBS do look awsome.

    Sounds good. I'm always scared of going for the "good" side for fear of the abundance of kids that tend to join. Seemed like Alliance in WoW was just inundated with 10 year olds. Jeez it drove me nuts. Fine fine, I'll look forward to stabbing you humans out there then :).

    While I will grant that White Lions are the least prissy, they are still High Elves and thus are too snooty and egotistical to bear. :P

    Well, all right, I guess I can bear them, but only because I have to! ;)

    I mean, I wouldn't intentionally not help them against the Dark Elves just to laugh as Lothern falls. Nope, never. :P

    I'm most likely gonna be a dark elf Disciple, unless they end up really sucking, they sound pretty fun. (since I can't be a stealther, heh.)

    I personally would choose a dwarf!! Any class would do me as long as it has a beard!!! hehe

    The thing is that all my friends will start Chaos and they are trying to convince me too, but dwarves are too good to leave them behind!

    If i started the game now i would choose a Runeprist or an Ironbreaker

    Order - either Human or High Elf.

    Class, still up in the air until I test-play them.

    One thing I will keep in mind, with the advent of Keep/Siege Warfare the Ranged and Magic classes will dominate.

    I think the number one complaint among melee classes in DAoC during any kind of combat where you were not in each other's faces was the lack of anything to do for the melee guys.

    Also, it was hard for melee fighters to close to melee range when archers and magic casters where nuking the living crap outta them as they tried to approach.  True, if they got close they were deadly, but that was the trick -- trying to get in close.

    If you remember the video showing the two Bright Wizards up on a high cliff overlooking a group of enemies, just those TWO guys alone caused havoc with their AoE fireballs and sent the group of enemies scurrying away.

    So, overall, if you like melee classes -- be my guest.

    But you should keep in mind that for pure DPS at a distance (reach out, reach out and touch someone) the archers and magic casters will be very, very hard to deal with.

    Time will tell, but I am seriously considering playing:

    ~ Archmage -- powerful caster both offensively and defensively.  He can nuke, heal and resurrect players.

    ~ Bright Wizard -- master of fire damage.  Kill him fast ... or you'll die.

    ~ Shadow Warrior -- High Elf with a "dark" side.  Bow-wielder, master archer, also has melee abilities.

    ~~~
    Sidenote:
    And remember, since WAR has no stealth classes, that easy stealth-ganking of squishies ain't going to be so easy.  They'll see you coming.
    ~~~

    Anyway, these are my thoughts and I cannot wait for the chance to try out the classes and start playing WAR!!!

    As a former DAoC player (very former, I stopped playing years ago now), this also worried me.

    I am hoping, praying, and wishing that EA Mythic somehow overcomes the natural imbalance that exists in sieges between ranged and melee careers. The problem is that it is indeed natural, as sitting in a fortified structure lends itself to being able to strike from a distance with relative impunity.

    If there is a feasible way to storm a keep and get the melee careers inside, where they will then unleash hell upon the frail ranged people, then there should not be a problem. Just as long as sieges are not a standoff that has one side nuking the other while everyone who cannot throw/shoot/cast something sits idly by.

    What might be interesting is a tactic where a tank's movement is slowed and his combat abilities are reduced to zero, but he focuses all his efforts on blocking ranged attacks, and maybe defending another. Then battles might be more dynamic, since you would have one side trying to push its way into a keep, while the other side would have to have melee characters on hand to stop them, since ranged characters could not effectively damage them. This would result in a middle ground, instead of just two ends and a vast emptiness between them.

    I'm going to be on the Order side. Will start a elf archmage for my first character at first. I might change to rune or warrior-priest depending on what ends up being the better PVP healer.

    Can't wait for this damn game!

    I could be wrong since i didnt try any keep action but If the tanking classes "taunt" have enough range to also affect the ranged attacker/defenders , then they would have to focus on the tank and melee dps could make it to them. + if siege engines/rams etc.. are well done , we shoudn't see hour long ranged standoff . Anyway , as a big fan of melee classes , I hope they don't get gimped vs ranged as usual. time will tell

    Those were my concerns exactly..    Ranged absolutely dominating the melee classes. It seems like that will most likely be the case w/ the lack of stealthers & primary healers. I'm not sure..  Still convinced that ranged will tear it up.

    So based on your thoughts and what you guys have heard, what seems to be the best destruction caster in terms of damage? And the best in terms of utility? Thanks again for your input guys.

    Oh wait, this isn't THAT cartoony orc and human game...

    Uh, I guess I'll go with the Goblin Squig Herder...  For the Horde!  Er, GREENSKINS!

    Well, there are two Destruction nukers, the Chaos Magus and the Dark Elf Sorcerer/Sorceress (I hate saying "Sorcereress" because it looks retarded). From the descriptions, which are only descriptions, mind you, it sounds like the Sorcerer/Sorceress will deal the most amount of raw damage. They have a mechanic where the more dark magic they gather, the more damage they deal, but it becomes more unstable. They also are mentioned having curses that do lingering damage (DoTs). The description makes no mention of anything else.

    In the Magus description it sounds like he will have more variety in his spell lineup, and thus will not be as pure of a nuker. So, it sounds like he will trade some damage for a bit more utility. I expect he will have some limited CC and debuffs, as secondary spell effects are mentioned.

    I've always played the "good" guys is most factional mmo I play so this time around I'm going for the bad guys or chaos (together with a few of my friends)! The class I am gonna (most likely) play will be the Chaos Chosen. Fully plate armored, engine of destruction.

    I'm still on the fence, but I will try to side with the underdog. Meaning I will check the polls and what people say on various fansites when the game is within 1 or 2 weeks from the release date.

    Either way, heads will roll

    At the current moment, I am leaning Order so my list of careers I want to play atm are

    Knight of the Blazing Sun or White Lion (main)

    Shadow Warrior, Warrior Priest, Engineer (alts)

    If I do go Destruction it will be,

    Chosen or Disciple (main)

    Sorcerer, Black Orc, Zealot (alts)
