I just got some kind of Acer with an E4400 and 2 gigs of ram for about 100 bucks from my dad's friend who gets them for free. Seeing a PCIe slot, I immediately took the power supply out of my old gaming computer, ran out and got a 8800GT OC, and put them in the new Acer. It runs amazing, but I still want to upgrade it to 3gb of ram. Anyway... I went from running WoW at 50FPS to running WoW at 160FPS so I figured I should at least take this opportunity to look around at some of the newer MMOs that are coming out as well as download any demos available that can show off my system's performance.
What are some new MMO's that are out that demand a high performance computer that I can try out? Also feel free to list any other game demos that you think I should get just to run around and look at eye candy...
Currently Downloading:
- Tabula Rasa
- Hellgate: London
- Everquest II
I'm also downloading Crysis for laughs and giggles... any other MMO or other suggestions?
Tried EVE, didn't like the interface.
Thanks!

LOTRO !!
If you want something that demands a high performance computer, you can give Vanguard a try. I don't think there has been a free trial yet for it, but you might be able to find someone to give you a buddy key that came with the game.
LOTRO on the way, anything else?
MMOs never demand high performance computers. Even TR, the most graphically demanding one, is a joke to my 8800GTX. Seriously, I think the thing basically wakes up slightly, renders everything, then goes back to sleep.
If you want to show off graphics, just go get Crysis. Or wait for new MMOs, 2007 was not a banner year for the genre.

Your right. I am going to give LOTRO, Hellgate: London, and Tabula Rasa all a serious try though.
I'm also bittorrenting Oblivion and The Witcher
Oh for pete's sake man. Oblivion and the Witcher were both decent games in their own right (even if Oblivion did give up at a certain point, and the Witcher has a few flaws). Pony up the cash for them, they're definitely not too expensive. Downloading games is just going to kill more and more game developers on the computer, who are actually trying to put out a good, single player product, and force them to the consoles. And we all know how wonderful console games are, right?
Its not like music, where the RIAA and the record labels see most of the dough, and the average artist gets chump change. Developers typically get from 80% all the way to 100% (with download systems). You're supporting the people who make great games.
But no, people will continue to pirate new and good games, killing original developers, while Bungie and EA milk their cash cows to make more mediocre crap.
