As WoW is Blizzards first MMO, I can't say one way or the other, though I don't expect them to be any better than the rest of the genre in that respect. But, neither will EQ2. Well once Eq2 comes out and it rules over everything, i will come back and laugh at your horendis choice in games. Eq2 will rule over everything, no amount of you whinning will change that.

You said that no where in your post did you indicate that the gameplay in eq2 will be unoriginal. Yet u say that it will be no different then any other MMO which MEANS THAT THE GAMEPLAY WONT BE ANY DIFFERENT U FREAKING IDIOT.
I have to admit, graphically, Everquest 2 does look impressive, gameplay wise, well, can't say, havn't played it.....though the only thing that worries me with the EQ2 Graphics is that it'll be like Horizons as far as Graphics.....looks insanly beutiful, if you have a $5000 Alienware that can handle them.........though I will be giving both this and WoW a try to test their Gameplay......time will tell which one takes me under it's fold :P

My brother's computer has a geforce MX 5200, that is one of the lowest cards that will run Eq2. I have seen the character customization using that card, and it is still amazing beyond description! The graphics you see in the character customization are the graphics that Eq2 will look like! So i have seen what it looks like on a low end graphics card, and i have to say that it is amazing!

EQ2 looks amazing - i mean it is one of the best looking games iv seen - and the guys at SOE must be some of the best programmers around because the network code the are writing must be amazing to be able to handle all those beautiful graphics - there is a little sarcasm in this post but only for good reason - i totally am wowed by the graphics and it is beautiful but just how many people can afford cable or DSL who really really want to play this game? Im a WoW fan myself and don't plan to play EQ2 but i give the game much respect and a 9 out of ten for graphics and knowing the EQ world i think the game will be at least as good as it predecessors but come on - who has the money or the gear to run the game looking like that and run it without lag - that in my opinion is the only downfall to EQ2

One last thing, if those are close to the default graphic settings, and EQ is known famously for it's 50+ people raids, then I better start putting together a cluster just to be on the raid (and getting broadband reconnected).

In all honesty, I'm getting pretty impressed with what I'm seeing for EQ2, it looks promising dispite being an SoE product... But I'll be completly honest with you... I read topics like this were fanboys make biased unfounded statements like game play will run smooth with lowest reqs cause I tried the char maker...(just to help, the game always runs smoother with no enviorment... It's in actual game play that it has to prove it's metal. And I really want to try it... But unfortunatly fanboys bashing every other game based on nothing in order to defend EQ2 is really a turn off. You have to calm down on the subject guys. Because sony isn't giving you anything, they are trying to sell you a product, they don't actually care about you. And they love fanboys cause they can step on you and you'll still keep playing. Be a consumer, make them live up to your expectations if they want your money. WoW and EQ2 are getting so many Fanboys now I want to avoid both titles... And I was really looking forward to both... When I played EQ, I mentioned one time in game I had more fun playing AO and was instantly flamed in game by fanboys about how stupid I must be and about how much EQ is better then AO.. but after dealing with them I cancelled and went back to AO... I don't need fanboys attacking me in game should I say "i find such a such a feature bad, or a pain in the ass".... an educated opinion with consideration to counter points will win more arguments then angry biased ranting. Fanboys can do as much damage to thier cause as they can to help it.
and if it means that I have to listen to it in game. I'll goto another game.

You do know i never once said that the character customization ran smoothly on low reqs. (even though it did, but i do know it wouldn't in the actual game) All i said was that at one of the lowest graphics cards that will run it, it still looks amazing!

Anyway, as I originally said, for the slower members of the audience, saying that EQ2s combat, quest, and tradeskill systems will take MMOs to new heights is nothing more than hot air, or text in this case, until they release the game, with everything they said would be there included, and working.

You said that no where in your post did you indicate that the gameplay in eq2 will be unoriginal. Yet u say that it will be no different then any other MMO which MEANS THAT THE GAMEPLAY WONT BE ANY DIFFERENT U FREAKING IDIOT.

I have to admit, graphically, Everquest 2 does look impressive, gameplay wise, well, can't say, havn't played it.....though the only thing that worries me with the EQ2 Graphics is that it'll be like Horizons as far as Graphics.....looks insanly beutiful, if you have a $5000 Alienware that can handle them.........though I will be giving both this and WoW a try to test their Gameplay......time will tell which one takes me under it's fold :P

EQ2 looks amazing - i mean it is one of the best looking games iv seen - and the guys at SOE must be some of the best programmers around because the network code the are writing must be amazing to be able to handle all those beautiful graphics - there is a little sarcasm in this post but only for good reason - i totally am wowed by the graphics and it is beautiful but just how many people can afford cable or DSL who really really want to play this game? Im a WoW fan myself and don't plan to play EQ2 but i give the game much respect and a 9 out of ten for graphics and knowing the EQ world i think the game will be at least as good as it predecessors but come on - who has the money or the gear to run the game looking like that and run it without lag - that in my opinion is the only downfall to EQ2

It seems they still like the boobies too. Maybe not as pronounced as EQ now, but still up there. Realism? Ha, no.

*sigh* I wanted to post in here at first, now I feel I'm gonna regret it...
In all honesty, I'm getting pretty impressed with what I'm seeing for EQ2, it looks promising dispite being an SoE product... But I'll be completly honest with you... I read topics like this were fanboys make biased unfounded statements like game play will run smooth with lowest reqs cause I tried the char maker...(just to help, the game always runs smoother with no enviorment... It's in actual game play that it has to prove it's metal. And I really want to try it... But unfortunatly fanboys bashing every other game based on nothing in order to defend EQ2 is really a turn off. You have to calm down on the subject guys. Because sony isn't giving you anything, they are trying to sell you a product, they don't actually care about you. And they love fanboys cause they can step on you and you'll still keep playing. Be a consumer, make them live up to your expectations if they want your money. WoW and EQ2 are getting so many Fanboys now I want to avoid both titles... And I was really looking forward to both... When I played EQ, I mentioned one time in game I had more fun playing AO and was instantly flamed in game by fanboys about how stupid I must be and about how much EQ is better then AO.. but after dealing with them I cancelled and went back to AO... I don't need fanboys attacking me in game should I say "i find such a such a feature bad, or a pain in the ass".... an educated opinion with consideration to counter points will win more arguments then angry biased ranting. Fanboys can do as much damage to thier cause as they can to help it.
and if it means that I have to listen to it in game. I'll goto another game.
