hi im new to your community ,but after having a quick look at the list of games you guys have on the left ,
ive noticed there are NO Mafia based MMORPG?
mafia based games seem to be taking off rather fast now and i wanted to know what everyone here thought of them?
id really appreciate any feedback you guys care to leave on the subject

And you say it will bring out the worst of people that's the reason why it would be an epic failure! Because then so would loads of idiots would probbly think that the things you do ingame works in real life! and it would probbly be banned in some contries and it would be an epic failure because Mafia and MMORPG dont go together if you want to play a mafia game online with others then play GTA san andreas!
just to further dispute your comments regarding the success of a mafia based game, they are running already and further more any game that has run for nearly 3 years and boasts a $2k plus prize pool every 10 days HAS to be working!

lol well maybe to you but to use its a decent size community for a new type of game its still young but thats no reason to ignore what is a growing community is it?

That's about how many subscribers EVE online had last time I bothered to check.
Otherwise a mafia based MMORPG could probably work. But any theme on a MMORPG could work, in the end it's how you design it and not the theme by which (at least) I will determine if it's worth playing or not.
well i would agree its hard to offer an unbiased opinion when you have not at least looked at a site
Imagine, a mafia game based on the old UO ruleset where griefing and open pvp were allowed, theft, families, protection rackets...it could work.
However, in response to the OP's game it is F2P am I right? And if so are the 50k subscribers active or just created accounts? I'm willing to bet created accounts. On the other hand, that doesn't seem the point of the post, but to see if others would be interested in a Mafia MMO does seem to be the point.
Personally I would try it...not sure if I'd like it. Like another poster said, it would bring out the worst in people. That said, even if I didn't like it hopefully it would pull some of the griefers away from the games I play...depemnding on the mechanics of course.

yes your correct in saying the 50k accounts are those created by people who have came, looked etc some left some stayed as with any game the format or game set does not suit all
am i here to promote this game ? well i suppose the fact im speaking about it would lead to a yes on that

but this thread was genuine in the fact im very surprised there are no mafia based MMORPG listed at all?
what i was hoping to find out was if this was purly because people think there are none out there OR if for some reason you guys think a mafia MMORPG doesnt make the cut and if so why?
so you could say im here in a research capacity also
personally i dont see the problem with that how else do you enhance an already growing gaming community and find out what people think ?

I actually think a Mafia based MMO would do great, especially if you set it up right and made it appeal to more than just mafia fans. What would make me want to play it is if the gameplay and storylines were original. Lets just hope we wouldnt have "Beat up 10 shopkeepers and return to me" quests lol
yeh i agree with you content is important but also the people who play make the game what it is the community aspect is a big part too in my opinion
