Solo friendly mmo

Hi all,

I think I have played most major mmos, but I thought maybe we could do a list of most solo friendly MMORPGs. Except  WoW which I know is solo friendly until max level and then sucks as a solo game.

Don't answer just to say "why solo if it is an MMO" instead go think about it and get a little more intelligent.

    City of Heroes

     

    Probably lots more.  All are easy to solo through, and have the option of grouping when needed or desired.

    DAOC was ok soloing in a couple of years back, is it better now?

    Most  MMO's today are far friendlier to the solo player than the group player except a few games like DDO & Everquest 2 (at its launch it was primarily group only oriented, its supposedly far friendlier to solo players now than anything.  don't take my word though ask a current EQ2 player *wants to go back*).    You'll probably never find a game thats so solo friendly you can do EVERYTHING on your own...thats what single player games are for.

     

    I may be incorrect in my list but I'm going from what I've heard of other gamse or experienced .. solo friendly games.  This is just a list of ones that I know enough about to pass judgement on (does not count any games not currently in release)

     

    Everquest 1  - before everyone goes in a snit the current version of EQ1 is solo friendly if your into just wandering around and killing things and maybe doing some quests.    If you want to do all the super giant stuff ... look for a group.

    Everquest 2 - they've learned that being group heavy sucked

    Guild Wars   - far as I knwo its casual friendly ... which most people take as soloing.   Plus you can hire npc's to group with you... *lame* 

    Anarchy Online  - I dont think I had to ever group for any quest I took in this game

    Ultima Online - since its Transformation ages ago...the need to group unless you go onto the Felucia shard is completely nullified.

    Runescape - its basically a knock off of Ultima Online without the shards.  But its completely soloable.

    Horizons - um..yea you can solo here...though I wouldn't suggest playing it.

    Lord of the Rings online - its got a fairly decent mixture of group and solo content.  Though I believe its more gruop heavy in the later levels.   I never played past 20 :)

    SWG - ... its WoW a facation made it solo friendly so I hear...deeper details on the game are sketchy due to the ultimate hate SOE has earned due to the NGE.

    HellGate London - its got a solo / one player mode so yea its solo friendly lol :)

    I dont know much about the asian games (though i can tell you FFXI is NOT solo friendly period) atleast not enough to comment on their solo friendliness.  You'll have to wait for someone else's post :)

    Im playing Sword of the New World right now. I enjoy it because of the casual soloing aspect of the game. I just dont have the time to be hardcore any longer.
