Which one to Preorder - Everquest 2 or World of Warcraft

I'm not sure which one is better since i haven't got into the beta in either of them so would one should i preorder? Everquest 2 or World of Warcraft ::::38::

Edit: Please also list a couple of reasons why u think it is better

    Don´t never, ever preoder a mmorpg, you wont know how good or bad the game will be, look at SWG, most fans preorder it..........and left it after the first month.

    Wait for the reviews and everything will be fine

    Agreed, don't ever preorder. Buying the 'special edition' is a waste of money too. Getting a MMO on day one is just a pain in the ass anyways, as the servers are constantlyup and down, and laggy as hell from everyone else trying to log in.

    You're not missing out on anything by waiting a day or two, if not a week or two to pick up a game.

    Oh crap...

    All the WoW fanboi's are gonna advocate WoW and say how EQ2 will be crappy.

    All the EQ2 fanboi's are gonna advocate EQ2 and say how WoW will be crappy.

    Worlds will collide in this thread once everyone wakes up.  I also recommend not pre-ordering.  WoW and EQ2 are both looking like good games (Check out Guild Wars too).  But I know for sure WoW will have an open beta at some point but I don't know about EQ2.  Although they say not to judge a game by it's beta, once it goes open beta most of the major issues are fixed and you can get a definite feel for the game.

    Yeah, the WoW vs EQ2 thing will be a trainwreck. The word's WoW and EQ in the same post is like blood in the water for Bobjones, and the rest.

    I agree that the WoW - EQ2 competition is pretty immature.  Just take a look at the Hype Meter page; they are starting a new drama there.

    Personnaly, I will pre-order WoW, because I am a RPG Fan and I will head foward the Roleplaying Server a.s.a.p.  I play Everquest (Since 2000) and so far, rare have been able to get into some Roleplay.

    WoW has the advantage of offering me real interestings quest with a story around it.  The quests in EverQuest were a total dissapointement.

    People that fights over and over about EQ2 and WoW are wasting their time badly...
    Who wants to be said that what he is supporting (because he personnaly likes it) is not as good as it seems to be ?

    It is not about knowning which game is better, but which game will fits you...

    Pre-order EQ2 for the char generation. Thats a cool bonus or go to EB and see if they have one there to give :D

    As for WOW...... heheh.

    Hi shadowX, and welcome to he board.

    But really, there are like a hundred threads on WoW vs EQ2 on the board already, reading thos will give you people's opinion without asking them to post the same thing over again. Nothing personal m8, just fed of up now of seeing WoW v EQ2 threads on a daily basis :)

    There are plenty of other ways to get the EQ2 Character Creater without preordering. It's not that interesting that it's worth spending the money on, either. All you can do is pick a race, and fiddle with the appearance settings

    I pre-ordered Everquest II.  I am still waiting patiently for my Character Creation Bonus CD.  I am looking forward to both games, however, and will probably be purchasing World of Warcraft at the store (if a copy is available), especially if it comes out before EQ2.

    I'm a huge fan of the Warcraft Universe and Blizzard games in general, but I am not so sure of the player-base that will be in WoW.  It seems to me that it may be more of a power-gamers game than a roleplayers game, but I hope I am wrong to think that.  WoW looks great, although I haven't seen or read much about anything new or innovative in the game.

    SOE has proven with Star Wars Galaxies that it is trying to bring roleplaying back to mmorpgs.  I have faith that Everquest II will offer many RP opportunities within the game, as well as complex gameplay and the typical things we have come to expect in mmorpgs, plus some things we may have never seen before . . .

    why dont u do a search before posting these topics?  We receive about 42 EQ2 Vs WoW threads a day and Im pretty sure this question has been brought up at least 712 times sinch May 04.  image

    you have no idea if it will be good and like another memeber said all warcraft fans will say WOW and all eq fans will say eq2

    I don't understand why so many people ONLY want to choose between WoW and EQ2.

    DnL, Darkfall, Face of Mankind, Tabula Rasa, and Guild Wars are all superior in their own way.

    Its really a choice of personal taste. What you should really do is go to eq2.com and read about it and go to WoW.com and read about it and then see which one suits your playstyle better.I personally am going to be getting eq , why? because it will have more depth , greater immersion and alot of cool quests/race/class combos to mess around with , which would keep anyone entertained for a long amount of time. I also love how there going about istanceing(So lets say one of the maps are crowded with people , well no worries u can go to a duplicate of the map thats more empty so you dont have to wait around for mobs. Also if a boss is being camped you can instance it and not have to wait around for them to be done with it if you wanna go kill it with ur guild) Those are just a couple of sweet things about it , you should really read up about them. image

    Just to say, WoW has instancing too.  And I don't think you'll be able to just instance anywhere (EQ2 or WoW), only certain places will be instances, probably mission/quest specific areas only and some dungeons.

    The trick is to buy it a day or two after it came out after you have read the reviews and suggestions of the people that have played it because buying a game on hype is useless!

    Ya, only important places.. and most quests that send ya somewhere will be isntanced in eq2.. and it doesn't means theres many of the same map, it means the maps will ALWAYS be different even if you run through em 100 times.. and every fellowship goes to a different one.. so basically you will never know if anyone is at a boss because youc ant enter their quest and ruin it :P

    Well i have decided to wait till open beta for wow and since i signed up for eq2 beta, i might get in that as well.image After i have tried both games (in their open beta stage) i will preorder. Thank you for ur help guys.

    Preordering is one of the stupidest things you can do with a game. They seem so great when in Dev but then they release and all the reviews say its bad, you own it though so you play it, and you realise you wasted your money. Also like coldmeat said, servers are always down and the lag is really bad, so youre always better off waiting a little while, dont worry, no ones going to be getting t3h 1337 haxxor w34pon in a week.

    also, whats this EQ2 character creator i keep hearing about? is it sometihng you get with preorder?
