SzarkSzark News ManagerMember Posts: 4,420

The Tabula Rasa official site has been updated with their weekly Feedback Friday Feature, which answers player questions and provides information tidbits about the week that was for Tabula Rasa.

Patch Note Preview

Added new Operation: Sanctus Grotto (Level 50) Will open 1/25/08.

This Forean spiritual retreat is rumored to contain a hidden subterranean temple containing an ancient and valuable Eloh relic. Join in a desperate race to locate the temple, solve the riddle that will open its seal, and retrieve the relic for the AFS. But hurry, the Bane have also heard about the relic, and they’re racing to get there first!

Chinese New Year

Players will get special treats on February 7th for Chinese New Year. Black Cat, Blue, Orange, Red, and Yellow fireworks will be in your backpack when you log in. Remember – Safety First: Do not light these fireworks with your fire propellant gun!

3 month Veteran Reward

Several players have been wondering what we have in store for our 3 month veterans. Well, if you are familiar with some of the earlier concepts of Tabula Rasa, you may just recognize our first reward, an old school Tabula Rasa “Kirin” mask. Players will also be able to show their dance skills with a /robot emote.

Also NcSoft news this Friday--cancelled their "Blackstar" project with Spacetime Studios (also in Austin) resulting in layoffs.

Until you spread your wings, you have no idea how far you can walk.

I have every intention of playing this game, I'm just waiting on them to polish it up a bit.  A friend of mine has been playing and he told me that there are quite a few broken quests and bugs in the later levels.  He seems pretty fair when it comes to games, so I decided to hold off a bit.

It needs quite a bit more than fixing up a few quests. It'll certainly take a lot more than a mask and a /robot emote to entice me back. I'll buy it when it goes free to play just to see how its shaping up. Last I played it has nothing that warrants a monthly fee.

Actually it's quite good, though I'll admit I'm a slow player (I like to take my time) and am still under level 20. Great graphics, some cool locations to explore, fun weapons and abilities. It's not the greatest game ever made, but it's the best sci-fi mmo on the market currently, alongside Eve.

Another NCsoft game rushed to market full of bugs and dissappointment awaiting a slow death like Auto Assault. Pretty much a mirror of Auto Assaults run except not as much fun to play.

Proof positive that a MMO's can get a excellent rating by the critics and still suck like Paris Hilton at a Kappa Alpha  Mixer.

I'm quite enjoying the game, myself. It's good to see something like feedback friday. I think the game will last and remain fun as long as they keep patching in stuff for higher levels to do. Vehicles will be a great addition to the game when they come. This game has a lot of potential. Of course that doesn't mean it'll reach the potential, but even still its pretty fun right now anyway.

If you are waiting to try this game better hurry, and if you think additions to the game are coming ah...don't hold your breath. Auto Assault had a bugged crafting system and patches and fixes were promised for the better part of a year. NCsoft puts everyone on a project and upon release anyone who draws a paycheck seems to be "let go". If the game isn't bought by Blizzard within months it is left to wither and die.

I'm taking my time with this game, levelling slowly and mostly solo. I am enjoying it a lot. It surprised me how good it was (I listened too much to the nay sayers) and didn't try it early on. TR is not a game I will ever become addicted to like I did to certain other  games, and that is good. I can play it and have fun for a few hours or even only one hour and put it down again. It is not lke work to play. I have a full time job, I don't need one online as well.

So overall, I say play it.
