Since it cant get any worse, SOE should take over development....

Everyone apparantly hates SOE, and this game as well, although I can see potential of this game being great. All it needs is some love from a company that has the funding to back it, and for all of SOE faults, lack of money isnt one of them. They did a similar thing with Vanguard, and they may need to introudcue a new graphics engine to D&L, but hey, worse things could happen, and it might just boost its rating to a 5... (this would be after a further year of BETA testing and a retail re-launch with collectors editions, awesome cutscenes and overarching epic storylines....)

If a company wants to make a game like Dark and Light they'd be better off starting from scratch.

Probably cheaper/easier to do it that way, plus you don't have to deal with all the negative PR that would come with the name "Dark and Light".

I wouldn't wish this POS, or it's history/problems, on my worst enemy, much less SOE.

Dark and Light + SOE... that's the stuff nightmares are made of.

    LOL so true!

I still can't believe people still care about this game enough to post stuff on it, like me..... I'm bored though so I have an excuse.

Why would even SOE be interested in game of fluff?  DnL proved to be nothing more then stolen promises... that is they stole folks cash when and where they could and never delivered what they promised.  Not that they even promised much after the initial website launch-- 90% was left to folks imagination.  Worse company and PR department EVER.

Yeah, I think they should give a refund to everyone.  Biggest let down I've ever had.  Worst launch so far in the history of MMO's.

No way. No re release or bugfixes. Sometimes you shouldnt try to fix something and simply start over. Just let a good developer take those promised features and build it from the ground up.

But it wont happen. I dont expect to see any new sandbox MMO's anymore. Maybe Darkfall in a year of 5 ;)

heheh even though SoE keeps games on life support I don't see them buying DnL..... the graphics aren't even good, they're all wonky looking..

ouch, no more sandbox... im SO afraid your right about that. And thats too bad, cause some of them actually kick-ass and it is really what people are asking for despite the success of WoW.

I was never a Pioneer, and never played SoG.  But I did subscribe at launch, and I stuck with it for three months, until I had had enough, and moved on.

I never had the enduring animosity that some had over the $40 I paid for the game, and the other $40 dollars or so I paid for those three months.

Getting out was a little cumbersome, but I was able to do so with a little bit of reading and effort.

I too got e-mails about how much I owed for a game I had cancelled later that winter, but I was never actually charged.

I came back when it was made free to play, and stayed through the summer and fall.  Changes had been made, it seemed that things had improved, and they had--but only through the 20s.

After the starting area, (although the MOB distribution and organization had also improved quite a bit), there was still very little to do but craft, grind, or PvP; (and there were precious few to do that with)

However I soldiered on, and for the most part, had an enjoyable gaming experience (especially since it was free to play)

The community was very small, (only several hundred), but it was solid and mature, and united in purpose.

However, I have once again left Ganareth, and have returned to Norrath.

The game simply has run out of things to do.  The community is a *bit* larger, but because of the great inbalance between Dark and Light, squabbaling has begun again.

I wish that the seemimgly endless lawsuits and counter-suits would finally be resolved, and the game would either close it's doors, or expand.

I will keep it on my hard drive, and troll the boards a couple of times a week; but for now, I will put it back in limbo until something changes.

I am not quite ready to abandon all hope (who enter here), but I am real tired of waiting.

    Hope dies hard.

i don think theres any real future for this, even if soe or someone were to take it over, the stigma with it is just too much now, time to move on i think

Well I tried the game out. Sadly its VERY anti-vista. Havent tried it on my xp desktop yet, that b*tch to full

But generally speaking, MOST games work perfect for me, this  one loads but moves hella choppy/laggy so realli realli unplayable. I think someone said its b/c the game is based off Open GL instead of the graphics card? I never realli figured that one out. And vista doesnt read or use Open GL? Something like that i guess... someone else has to fill in the gaps b/c i'm clueless about the rest.

But to bad, the "theme" looked neat with a long list of jobs, skills, storylines and characters to choose from.

Games I've Played: SilkRoad, Flyff, NeoCron, PlanetSide, Rapplez, UpshiftRacer, Drift City, TB, Kwonho, ArchLord, AoA, Exteel, WolfTeam, Shaiyan, WoKF, FFXIV, STO, KoTR, ESO, Defiance, Mabinogi

    Games I'm Playing: Warframe/STO

Games I'm Pondering: The Secret World
