Server choice on starting game?

I'm just about finished my duration on the free trial and am definately picking up this game on the 18th.  I'm wondering what server(s) are more newb friendly with guilds recruiting new players?  Been playing around on Khyber sofar, but will switch servers when I activate my full account if other options are offered.

 

i'm a D&D  pnp player (nearly 20 yrs...ack), 6+ yr veteran of EQ1, have played Vanguard since the end of open beta, and have dabbled in CoH/V, EVE, EQ2, Lineage2, WoW, TR, and several others, and I am liking the change of pace in DDO, but would like to have an active guild to join on  a server that has a large base of lower level players (not all alts if possible) to learn with.

 

I know the "unlock the drow" aspect must be overdone by new players to death, but what I'm looking to do on DDO is unlock the 400 faction to release the drow option asap......my concept for a main character back story requires a drow toon (not for pure twinkage of having the bonus stats, etc but for the story I've developed for my Drow Cleric)..........I'm a long time fan of Eberron and have had a concept and story in mind for awhile now.

Any suggestions?

 Grouping in Old school mmo's: meeting someone at the bar and chatting, getting to know them before jumping into bed.  Current mmo's grouping: tinder.  swipe, hookup, hope you don't get herpes, never see them again.

    Best bet is either the server forum or the guild matchup forum on the main site, as all the servers have what you're looking for you just have to find it.

    p.s. The drow unlock is really pretty fast, no worries there.

    Agreed, also since the server merge most of the servers have lost or had that distinctive flavor they used to have. Or at least thats the sense I get from playing on both pre/post merge Khyber and Arggo.

    If you are into RP you may want to try Sarlona or Thelanis, they were the 'unofficial' RP servers before the merge and may still have a larger RP population.
