I beat WoW...

Let me tell you what you do once you beat WoW, play CoD4.

By beating WoW, I mean, 2 T6 sets, full S3, I have a set for tanking, duel wielding and 2h dps; I've seen all the raiding content, played the best arena teams in our bg, and don't go into a bg without leaving with a ridiculous score.

I post this partly to brag, partly to inform you that well, the mmo market blows atm.

I'll report back with what you do once you beat CoD4 as well.

What do you want? A medal? You got a load of end-game gear for an incredibly easy MMO... great.

im just curious, how much time have you spent outside the house?

and beating WoW, i would be ashamed to brag about it, this only says that you have spent more time with your computer than an actual human being

hell, i am ashamed already that i bought the game and worst of all i played for 2 months *GASP*

drags his head in shame for playing 2 months of WoW (edit: fixed typo)

Bash all you guys want about how easy WoW is but the truth is a lot of hours must have been spent by OP to accomplish this feat and I would bet half of you do not have the patience to do so. Regardless of what they say OP I say bravo and enjoy COD4 great game with a great multiplayer.

LOL.. Gimme a break! MMO's are not even a true test of SKILL.. they are only time sinks... How can you be a GOOD MMIO player? lmao.. There is no skill involved which means getting all this "UBAH" gear is no way to determing how 1337 you are.. How can anyone even envy someone who's only success comes from a game in which NO skill is involved? lol..

And this goes for ALL mmo's.. You cannot brag about getting anything in them because until they make one where player skill actually determines progress, it will remain a pointless success..

The amount of time spent playing a game does not = UBAH LEET SKILL... so umm.. this discussion is now void...lol.. climb to the top of the COD 4 leaderboards and I just may applaud you..

Actually, if you spent this much time playing WOW and didn't realize what a waste it was, then WOW beat you.

Hey its only a game, but what he has achieved seems to be what a lot of mmo players (pvpers especially) are seeking. So in that sense he has actually "beat" WoW and is the envy of many no doubt. So, for that, here's a thumbs up

Now go unleash that focus and determination on the real world and I will see you at the top...

The sad part is you feel like you beat WOW and maybe to you, you have. To me, you have done nothing (if it is true to be honest), but inflate your own ego.
Have any alts? Helped your guild members level? Leveled any or all professions? Defended your faction against the other? Explored the world? Done many of the awesome storyline quests?
Now that you are done "beating WOW" (which is highly debatable), why not go succeed in real-life? Get a job, make friends and realize that the world doesn't revolve around a game.

He did nothing wrong in posting this at the Pub, the Pub is the discussion section for MMO's. Which WoW is. I think the sad part is how aggressive the ego stroking members of mmorpg.com have come to be.

Have you ever played beyond the 10 man raids onto the 25 man? Even in a hardcore raiding guild it takes a great deal of patience to complete those as it takes a great amount of time for one and a great deal of team work. This alone is pretty hard now imagine that with 40 people. Great deal of head aches and a lot of patience.

Since this post is specifically related to WOW and the OP's supposed success therein, it might be better to post there.
My thoughts, given my comments, were more of a question as to why the OP believed it was necessary to post here and not in the WOW forum. This post should be in the WOW forum since it is specfically about that game.

He wasn't saying it only to WoW people, he was talking about in the Pub.

Agreed. It just sometimes stuns me how many loud-mouths we have here in mmorpg.com. Big Egoes bursting with bitter words. If you say one word in a wrong way, you have people rolling up the worst scenarios in their heads - behave like their opinion is the one and only and act like assholes towards others.

Some people even think you are not allowed to state your opinion about anything without listing things from A to Z and having "valid information" all written in different colors - or else you are either fanboy / troll.

My apologies for the offtopic rant. Don't stone me.

I think you are missing the point here hoss, WoW is literally everquest for kids. EQ raids were far harder, and took more patience.  Comparitively, at least to a good portion of us that started with EQ, WoW was so easy it was hard to stomach. It was like we were taking a step backwards from the challenge and depth of EQ.

So while Im sure you spent a lot of time playing WoW, I assure you, its no big accomplishment in a game that is so compartively easy.

Speaking of which, I know people that play this silly old MUD called Gemstone 3, that have played their characters for 10+ years. I wont even compare the commitment difference between those two games.

At this point you should probably try to beat real life. It has much better high end content and will bring you much better rewards than just bragging rights.

    True.

But i'd like to add : if WoW takes a lot of patience in the opinion of its fans, then would you say it's entertaining ?

In other words : you dont need patience to participate in a fun activity. If you need patience to complete something, then this thing isnt fun. If it's not fun and it's a game, why are you annoying yourself in participating in this game ?

    Ok, so where to begin...

WoW, it might not be the most skill based game out there, might be a lot easier than EQ is or was, or whatever. But please, please find me a game where I can go to an internet cafe, log on, and have people automatically recognize my gear, or at least what my character is, then proceed to call their friends over to check it out.

Yes - this does make me look like an attention whore, but I just seem like the best example to explain why I decided to climb to the top in WoW instead of something like EQ. EQ might be fun, and so much harder and all that, but WoW is still just as fun.

Skill in WoW - It does exist, it is not just amount of time spent, it is more a combination of the two. But, please tell me one game that is not. CSS for example, yes there are people naturally gifted. Thats great, but most people to want to be truly the best at it also invest a lot of time, whether it be thinking up new strats on a certain map, or just practicing. (I pick an fps for my example, but I believe the same goes for all mmo's.)

Just to clarify the type of skill in WoW, there is skill in pvp, mostly because anyone worth 2cents has s3 too, so its basically the same gear, though I do have an edge because I personally like to mix my pvp and pve gear, (I don't find the need for ridiculous amounts of resilience), but still full s3 isn't much different from what I use.

Pve skill - raiding, time w/o skill =s a ton of whips and repair bills, with skill it =s eventually downing the boss. It does also take gear, but the fact is if its new content that means you only have the gear prior to that boss meaning it won't just be a tank and spank / a few little tricks to avoid the big hits. It means you need a strat, you need good coordination, and yes, you still need to be geared enough. You get gear by progressing so, you got the gear in turn by being skilled.

     - End rant.

Anyways - as too my real life. Seeing as it concerns so many of you. My real life is great. I have a part time job, hopeing for an internship at jp morgan this summer, I go to school, I have a gf, I have friends.

I'm going to open a new dynamic to games for you guys, one that isn't seen as much, but still exist. I got kick out of my boarding school my junior year (not proud of it, literally the biggest regret of my life), to spend my senior year in public school at home. WoW was the only way I had constant contact with all my old friends, though I played much, much more than they did, it enabled me to still talk to them on a day to day bases. Did I party much my senior year? No, I didn't have that many friends at home, mostly because irl I'm a bit elitist, to be fun of course. ie: I prefer cassell's/l'etoile over buddha bar, and les brains, though that might not be the best example because buddha bar and les brains are both insanely fun too (anyone who knows about the Paris nightlife will understand what I mean).

    - End of second rant.

Oh, and yes, professions are maxed, so are most the important reputations. So sorry for not leveling my staffs to 350 as a warrior, and for not maxing out fishing and cooking at the same time, only got cooking maxed missed the fishing part. As to helping guildies level? Lol, come on now, my guild doesn't even recruit anymore, they are all rerolling horde for better racials (Yes, I'm dead serious.)

(There is probably a lot of typos, I typed this at a very fast pace, without thinking my English teacher would read it.)

If there was any merit to this guys bragging claims he'd be posting links to his Toons in the armory and the various sites that track all this information including what raids you've completed.

Personally the fact he says people gather around him at Internet Cafe's just sounds laughable.  Gamers in the US don't hang out at cafe's unless they're broke n unable to afford an internet connection.
