im just curious, how much time have you spent outside the house? and beating WoW, i would be ashamed to brag about it, this only says that you have spent more time with your computer than an actual human being hell, i am ashamed already that i bought the game and worst of all i played for 2 months *GASP*
drags his head in shame for playing 2 months of WoW (edit: fixed typo)
I'm just curious, how much time have you spent outside the house Squal'Zell?
come on how many hours do you have under your belt with Second Life? 445hrs was it?
this only says that you have spent more time with your computer than an actual human being!
what was that line about glass house's and pepole who live in them?
If there was any merit to this guys bragging claims he'd be posting links to his Toons in the armory and the various sites that track all this information including what raids you've completed. Personally the fact he says people gather around him at Internet Cafe's just sounds laughable. Gamers in the US don't hang out at cafe's unless they're broke n unable to afford an internet connection.
I'm so sorry I forgot - Khronos, Dwarf Warrior, Kil'Jaeden.
That isn't my real guild and those aren't my real arena teams.
And internet cafes are also for those who have money to spend, on top of what they spend at home, because they enjoy playing with others around them. You will spend more playing at one than getting a decent internet connection.
I say WELL DONE! It is something special to complete, it took time and effort and patience to achieve, as well as a lot of practice,( I don't care if it's WoW or some other game) and he should have the right to come and brag about it, bragging is good when done tastefully, it show's people that the game can be completed and inspires others to get there game on to try harder and not give up, yes I think the OP has done this with good taste. I also think a lot of other people who have posted here have the taste of sour grapes in the mouth's, and I'm left wondering how many of them have actually clocked a game, I think it's fairly easy to see myself. Well done and tally-Ho to the OP, keep up the good work. to the rest, give the guy his due, try not to let the sour grape taste get you down and if you can't do that, try not to be a bunch of Flaming forum trolls!
Let me tell you what you do once you beat WoW, play CoD4. By beating WoW, I mean, 2 T6 sets, full S3, I have a set for tanking, duel wielding and 2h dps; I've seen all the raiding content, played the best arena teams in our bg, and don't go into a bg without leaving with a ridiculous score. I post this partly to brag, partly to inform you that well, the mmo market blows atm.
I'll report back with what you do once you beat CoD4 as well.
Oh man you gonna be in for a big suprise when the next expansion comes out!
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
Bash all you guys want about how easy WoW is but the truth is a lot of hours must have been spent by OP to accomplish this feat and I would bet half of you do not have the patience to do so. Regardless of what they say OP I say bravo and enjoy COD4 great game with a great multiplayer.
Um, you do realize that there is after all a difference between difficult and time consuming right?
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. Hemingway
WoW as with just about every other MMORPG out there rewards players for the time put in not their skill or knowledge of the game. If you enjoy huge time sinks and grinding and have the patience to do repetitive, mind numbing actions for many hours on end you too can beat WoW. Its not a bash on the OP or the game it is just simple fact.
You haven't beaten wow yet since more content is coming, yeah.. you have beaten TBC not the game. Im playing wow myself and i enjoy it, not because it's extremely good but because of the people i raid with. I think people should focus more on that than leeching epics and bragging about it on the forums or in real life of how.. "1337" they are. Yes i raid BT, zomg i r l33t kk?
First off, to the OP. Good job on beating WoW. Not many people have the patience to stick with it for that long. Now you just have to wait until the expansion releases to play again. This will give you a much needed break from WoW to recharge the old batteries. You will be happy to return once the expansion releases if you stay away until then. I also heard COD4 was a great game. I won't play it for a while though honestly, because I still have several games I just bought and haven't beaten yet.
As for the others, you all sound jealous. You all have came up with different reasons for downplaying the OP accomplishment, yet failed to state the true reasons for the downplay. In my opinion, I think you all are jealous that he has beaten WoW. I've been playing MMORPG's since DAoC was released and have played the majority of them out there. Maybe I am just an awesome gamer, but I haven't found any of them hard to master. ALL of them required a time investment to become skillful in and WoW isn't any different. Without skill in WoW, you're whole group will wipe. Now magnify that by how many groups are in that raid. Maybe other games are harder, but beating WoW is a big accomplishment in the gaming world. If it was so easy, more people would have done it. But by Blizzards own words, a very small percentage of subscribers has even beat most of the raid bosses. Maybe life isn't all about gaming and to you all beating a game is nothing to brag about, but that doesn't mean it isn't important to a lot of people. Gaming is a valid hobby, just like fishing or sailing.
I'm not a cafe' player, but my brother used to be. I hung out with him at a cafe' last summer when I went to visit him in Florida and I can tell you that playing at a cafe' is a blast compared to playing in the silence of your own home. You have not only people to chat with online, but also right next to you. The cafe' is a gaming community where you can interact with real people with the same interests as you in your own back yard. It's like going to a bar and hanging out. Sure you can buy some alcohol and chill at home while talking on the phone with your friends, but it is much more fun to drink with other people in person. Cafe's aren't as cheap as buying your own connection either. It is just a more fun way of spending your entertainment money than playing internet games in your own home.
To the OP. My strategy for MMORPG's is to pick a main MMORPG and a secondary. I just thought of this strategy last week, even though it has been done by other people for a while now. When you beat your first MMORPG or done all that you care to do in that game, you switch to your secondary until you finish that one or an expansion comes out for your first MMORPG. The trick is finding two MMORPG's that you like. It took a lot of playing to figure out that I was just wasting my money when I bought every single MMORPG on the market. Every game feels almost the same and when it all came down to choosing, I ended up playing WoW. If you are going to choose a MMORPG, you might as well pick the one that is most polished and has a big community. I haven't played any other MMORPG that is as well made and thought out as WoW. The quests are dreadfully boring, but that is no different than the other MMORPG's out there. Any other MMORPG worth playing has a small community that are all maxed out (ie. not worth getting into).
Anyhow, good job again. It would be nice if you posted some pics of your character and all his mounts. Would be a good contribution to the WoW community on these forums. By the way, keep an eye out for WAR. I'm going to be switching back and forth from WoW to WAR if WAR is any good. The whole primary/secondary MMORPG idea thing.

Good job , I am sure it was fun. WoW kept me happy for about a year and a half, its quite a decent game. For something completely diff, try EVE Online, that's where I went.
to the 4 pages of flamers- you got to be kidding me. Pretty much this forumn exists so we can share our accomplishments and our disappointments, or, in simple american terms you can understand, bragging. If you can't brag at a pub, where can you?
WoW as with just about every other MMORPG out there rewards players for the time put in not their skill or knowledge of the game. Okay, this is just plain not true. I have grouped with enough people and been in enough raids to know that the difference between a good player and a bad player has very little to do with time sunk, and nothing to do with gear (besides the fact good players tend to get good gear).
Anyone who thinks they can just sink a few hundred hours into raiding and get Tier 3 is an idiot, frankly. There's a heck of a lot that goes into Raiding (even Karazhan) that quickly seperates the good players from the scrubs. And don't think good gear would help - if a level 70 of the same class got on the OP's character, he'd probably wipe the raid multiple times. You need to play well, you need to coordinate, you need to communicate and listen to raid well.
In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own.
I don't mind most of the comments on this thread here. WoW is a big time sink when it comes to getting allt he stuff that the OP mentioned. What erks me is conisdering WoW EQ for kids.
WoW was designed for the masses to pick up and play. Just like Diablo 2, Starcraft, Warcraft. Blizzard makes their games appeal to everyone of all skill levels. So WoW will seem pretty simple at times. However there are areas of gameplay that are not for kiddies. Raiding instances are NOT for morons and kiddies. It takes just as much coordination to defeat a boss in WoW as it does in EQ or any other MMO. More in my opinion.
I find it crazy to believe that a boss like C'thun is considered kiddy. C'thun is a giant eyeball boss. He is a 40 man boss that requires everyone in the raid to stand 10 feet from each other. If you stand too close to an ally, then you will get shot and everyone within 10 feet of you dies instantly. He shoots a giant laser in a clockwise/counter clockwise rotation around the room. The whole raid, in formation, must run in a circle aorund the boss to avoid the laser. To makes things unpredicatble you have tentacles that pop up and sling people out of position. This usually results in the death of about 5 or more people.
Important note: In WoW you cannot rez a person in combat. Only a druid and shaman can. Their rezzes are on 30 minute timers. So dying during a WoW boss is not an option.
Now this was only part 1 of 3. Second part involves the boss encompasing himself in a forcefield and gobbling one player at a time and spitting them out. The player who is gobbles has to run around inside the boss and destroy giant veins at a certain time of his attack. That means the raid leader has to state when the person should destroy a vein. After all veins are gone the forcefield drops and for a short while before repeating.
Then there is phase 3. I never made it to phase 3. All the stuff I mentioned is only half of what this boss does. The other half I can't remember clearly.
You mean to tell me a boss like that is common place in EQ? I don't think so.
Rather a sad day when a fellow gamer posts about how well they have done and all they get is a kick in the ass for it. Yea there is skill in wow . play with a bad gamer vs a good one and see how much fun you have running back and forth. Get over yourselves.
It's simply wrong to say wow takes no skills...especially in the arena world...If you can pass 2k rating fairly in the arena then you have skills... If you still don't agree with me, I believe you should play the game
ps There is a huge difference in reaction time and execution between a player who plays WOW well when compared to one who does not.
When one says WoW doesn't require skill I usually assume they refer more to the fact that WoW only really has that twitch skill to PvP. Which really any real time PvP game will have...
Usually I assume it more has to do with class and spec options. Both of which WoW kinda lacks...
EDIT: Point I have being, Skill does not mean you know what the best spec and gear is, because there really shouldn't be one best spec or gear set...It's more to do with having the options available to you and knowing what to do for the moment called for in a expedient manner. WoW does not have this effect. Would talk more but I don't like ranting on forums...out loud is more fun...

Wow there's quite some strong anti-mmorpg playing sentiments here.
This is a MMORPG website - why are you people verbally beating on someone who enjoys playing them?
Some people enjoy reading, some playing golf, some learning karate, or chess or knitting would you all flame those people for spending a lot of time doing what they enjoy? Why are MMO's different?
Squal'Zell: That was pretty weak. Do you really think anyone would mention their time spent playing mmorpg's first? However I think it is worth listing it in the things you do in your spare time on your CV, because *suprise* you can actually learn real-life applicable skills playing mmorpgs (among other reasons). This link is somewhat relevant: http://www.nickyee.com/daedalus/archives/000338.php

Think before you post.
There is no anti-mmorpg players here just people trying to help the youth of tomorrow. The american youth has really fallen bad to video games and tv. An the OP post has shown it. I'm 25 and I been playing Dark Age of Camelot for 5 years and I only made two toons to high realm rank a ranger that I got to rr 10L0 and I sold it a while back. Also a nightshade that I play now which I started in 2003 he is now RR 8L8. That is four years that I been playing my shade and he's not even close to finish yet. The only reason why is I play the game I don't let the game play me. I enjoy my life I seen the world and I'm enjoying everyday that pass by. Because I'm outside everyday doing something productive with my life. Because when my friend tell me stuff that happened to them I would like to come back with something better. Than what the OP can say I got my Warrior to Lvl 70 and he got all his end game gear. I'm not bashing on the OPer its just he is part of that youth that has fallen.

I can see your point here, it takes allot of effort and management as a guild leader or officer (Leading raids / keeping people happy ext). Just think of how it was back in the old days, when we had to get 40 people online.. at the same time to do a raid, you can begin to imagine why they cut the raid cap down to 25 mans.
I beat WoW by quitting at level 35 and moving on to another game, without having to get to lvl 70 and get all the best sets. I played, I had fun, I moved on. The way a game is supposed to be. So I truly beat WoW.
I think it is jacked up that people are telling the OP what he is missing in real life, because no one knows the OP in real life. No one knows if this guy has a fruitful real life or not. He said already in this thread that he does, so why don't people stop messing with him and leave it at that.

Think before you post.
what he said....all that is pretty piss to get....just takes alot of time....and who cares waht ur playing now....and who cares what uv done....
