Just started reading about AoC and noticed they plan on having a rogue type class. No I am not talking about the cheap tricks of WoW where I could 100-0 almost anyone but is this true they plan on having a skill based stealth system? Where if i move to fast its gonna alert you? If so I may have to try this game out because right now stealth in wow sucks as a rogue.

This video is 5 months old so its progressed quite a bit since then.
From the looks of it its going to be alot of fun. Since WAR is not allowing any stealth classes I may have to try this one instead. WOW has killed anyone who wants to play a dagger rogue with resiliance.
After watching this video I came up with few thoughts:
- Hope you can move that timebar so that you can actually watch the fighting and not the timebar on every attack you make.
- Why did the guy armed with broadsword in the 1st fight stand half of the fight facing backwards our assassin? Was he another player who got mixed up or just some NPC? I don't talk german so I have no idea what those guys were talking.
- The animations need work. Few times the player slided forwards for some reason. Maybe activating some skill and running forwards in the same time quits the running animation dunno.
- Hope the final stealth animation is more like crouching & creeping than running with slowdown animation.
- Our assassin seemed to be invisible for those that even faced towards him. That's pretty über. Or maybe the other player was just in hurry and forgot to look around more carefully.
Still, the game looks good.
When the game comes out that footage would be 7 months old :P The U.I. has changed a bit, as for balancing and such like we will have to wait and see. Animations are pretty good now, including the cape in a recent video you can really see the difference.

Yeah those are given but i like the idea of skill based stealth. If this is true you know how many crappy assassins their will be because they are gonna be jumping and doing other WOW type things. I also love the idea that I should be able to lockdown a caster or someone in light armor but as soon as someone with plate gear comes I better belly crawl away or come back for my head later.
