Im still confused how the EQ 2 hype is still going down. The game is going to be great people for some reason are getting sick of waiting. Let SOE make the game as perfect as they can so it doesnt turn out like another AC2 great graphics with a shallow gameplay and story line. Also im hoping eveyrone who has hyped the game has watched the E3 trailer and can see the full potential this game has. Im bysest for both WoW and EQ2 but its just sad to see all the WoW fan boys coming over and just flaming a game they know has potential to be as good or better then it. I know all get flamed but thats ok. Later.

Reason why EQ2 hype is going down is cause WoW has more hype at the moment. The whole "Media Access" closed beta WoW is doing truly brought alot of hype from the players and not the developers like EQ2 does. Id rather see first hand from players like me how a game is rather then a developers POV cuz usually devs lie about how good their game is just to make money =P
EQ2 "Looks" good.... but we have yet to see how the gameplay is cuz of the NDA closed beta they have. I wouldnt be supprised if they didnt even have an open beta. I hope EQ2s game play is good. I preordered both WoW and EQ2 so if EQ2s gameplay blows compaired to WoWs guess ill be using the EQ2 Cds as coasters
EDIT= I remember when they said SWG had "Potential" and look at how that game turned out.... *rollseyes*

Personally I think that all the WOW vs. EQII war bs comes down to is teenage immaturity. Basically I think that both games will be great games, and allot of fun to play. EQII graphics will be better, and WOW questing will probably be a little more "user friendly".
I would be more inclined to pay attention to critacisim of either of these games AFTER both of them have come out, but I have the feeling that after they both come out people will be to buisy playing and discussing witch ever game they choose to play rather than "flaming" the other game.
I choose not to play both at the same time when they come out so I will Play EQII becouse everything I have seen appeals to me more then everything I have seen and read about WOW. Thats just me. It's really just about personal preference when it comes down to these games because as I already said, they both look to be great games.

The big WoW hype happened when they were running the contest for WoW beta. WoW's hype numbers went up greatly durring that period. My guess is that it got out to some WoW forums that there was a WoW beta contest and the more times you logged into the site, the better your chances of winning. So lots of WoW fans came and while they were here logging into the site, they marked WoW up and EQ2 and others down. Not a big deal. The higher the hype, the harder it is to live up to expectations.

Also, I think a lot of people sign up for multiple fake accounts to demean the games they dont like and boost the games they do. Look what happened after CoH came out; ALL other games ratings increased as CoH decreased. Coincidence? Doubtful.
Possible. Personally, I enjoy the WoW beta very much, but if EQ2 is the better game, then so be it. Doesn't much matter to me the name of the game as long as what I'm playing is fun!

I don't understand how all the fan boys can just flame both games forums when neither have seen the final product. At least wait till they've played both games. I'm sure one will have better strengths over the other, and visa versa.

I beleave SOE is a publish they don't actually make the game. please correct me if i am wrong, but an example is Varient made EQ

For EQ, Sony was the publisher (I believe). Varent developed the game, but they were later bought out by Sony and became part of SOE. SOE developed SWG in conjunction with Lucas Arts (who had much say in the dirction of the game). SOE is developing EQ2 which will be their first time flying solo in creating a major MMORPG.
I think if SoE can keep the content coming like they have been doing in EQ live it will be a good game. From what I have seen in previous games they just don't have enough content to keep people playing for more then a few months.
