What to do?

So this here is like my first post, and i need to find a good game that lots of people enjoy, not any of those small unheard of games you find floating around the net, to play wighle i wait for Jumpgate Evolution to come out for Beta.  However  i'd like these thoughts to be based around role playing games, but have the specs on the game low enough to play on a family comp thats kinda old (WindowsXP 02),but still enjoyable also NO GAMES WITH CHAT THAT IS SET OUT FOR YOU I only like freechat games.(I dont exactly know what the names are called)  I dislike those games as it is very hard to make an understandable convo with a friend. 

Well i guess thats all so if anyone knows any good game that could work for me please let me know.

P.S. This post was mainly for practice but i would still like a reply and maybe some pointers on what not to do in a reply or post. (I really dont know how half of this stuff works so bear with me as i figure it out).
