The actual source of the attack is deliberately being concealed, the whole notion of the unknown being more frightening. I'm all for it, and will probably go see it opening night to avoid any idiots ruining the surprise for me. The story is supposed to be told through the camera of one of the characters, sort of like the Blair Witch Project. Alot of the theories I've heard point to some kind of Lovecraftian horror being the monster. Who knows? One part of the preview looks like a Godzilla attack, another implies someone being 'bitten' and perhaps smaller monsters. I'm excited about it, the movie has potential.
Give me your address and I will send you a pic of my mother-in-law. I bet they are pretty close.
hey we had to amend the ROC on this forum with a special rule saying pictures of your mother in law are not allowed due to those pictures causing blindness, overall sickness, and a desire never to have sex again.
just a friendly reminder not to do that.

First time I saw the ad, I was thinking, "Gojilla!" as I've been a big fan for a long time. My favorite Godzilla movie was Godzilla 2000. A bit long, but great flick. Looking at the pictures of the monster however, it doesn't look like Godzilla, but am hoping perhaps he's the one who comes along to take him down. It all depends on whether the producers made a deal with Toho Pictures.
Those of you who watch the LOST tv series, it's from the same group, Bad Robot. I'd see it expecting good directing, suspense and action. For the first time in two years, I'm looking forward to seeing this one in the theatre.
The monster isn't godzilla. Its an original creation. I'm not sure what the monster is but the speculation is all over the place.
The movie itself will be pretty good I think. The trailer leaves something to be desired, BUT if you actually watch and pay attention to it, it was done really well.
I think the direction is original and the move will will be entertaining.
What is interesting is that the monster is covered in giant parasites (slightly larger then humans), and these parasites supposedly are what does the killing, if there is any.
If you don't want to know though, don't click. He kind of looks like a pit lord from warcraft.
Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 68%. 15 movie reviews said it was fresh and 7 said it was rotten. It's probably just one of those movies every third person hates just like I Am Legend.
I heard like the 2nd picture muirin posted that the monster supposedly looks like a giant mutated rat. I think it's definitely a movie worth seeing though.
Hmm, just watched it. Was entertaining, but I'm glad I only paid matinee. This style of filming is definitely not for everyone. I was disappointed with the ending, as well as most of the others in the theatre with me.
*spoiler maybe*
Have you ever been recording with your camcorder and then run out of tape or the batteries die? That's how this movie ends. With no conclusion.
Movie is FANTASTIC up until the end. Its like "WTF, thats it?!" It was funny how the guy who was holding the camera the whole time died. Anyone get the part were the girl is bleeding out of her eyes, im a little confused on what happned to her. They also hint in the movie that the monster came from the ocean. Acting was good, all no name acts and they did a good job. Also one of the pictures i posted is close to what the monster looks like, just changed a little.
Im refusing to see it i dont like all the hype for a somewhat low budget monster film, that there just using mystery to create "hype" when in reality im more then slightly suspicious that its just a cover up for a bad movie.
Actually the CGI is pretty good. The "mystery" is just in the trailer. You get to see what's going on and the destruction that is being caused for the most part. Jets, bombs, tanks, explosions, and of course the monster. It does have the feel of Blair Witch, but it definitely is not a low budget film. There were no men in monster costumes stomping on miniatures that's for sure.

IMBD says "Revolves around a monster attack in New York as told from the point of view of a small group of people."
I think it looks cool and Im going to see it but I wouldent be surprised if its all just hype
I wonder what the monster looks like lol

It's only the general theme of a movie told through the eyes of a video camera.
I have a feeling its godzilla

Cloverfield movie???
Never heard of it before~~~
I think I'd better take some time to see what it is~~
I thought the preview looked terrible tbh, I originally thought it was a satirical advertisement for something.

For those wondering, the monster is supposed to look something like this.

I think that is pretty normal now days except for movies which are meant for kids or are just exceptionally good or bad.

Crab people has launched their second attack! (first one). And btw, the picture looks like a big mountain or something...
