Was my shortest beta ever. Played the 1st day for a little over 8 hours and actually fell asleep!
PLEASE stop these crappy games and give us something new and original.
Thats what i say i think AOC is the only one comming out right now that i been hyped about in a LOOONG time. LOTRO was a total bore itsself, WAR doesnt seem much better.
Nope
But if I did I would just find another game without looking for a place to show my disappointment.
nope...enjoying it.
how many posts you going to make on the same subject nomatica? spam much?
Was fun for a few hours but got old real fast.
You're right, the gameplay sucks.
I liked the Beta.. There's no other ship warfare game as good as it
This made me laugh.... Flying Labs brings us a new and original game. Does anyone else see the contrariness of the above statement?
Guess what? A company that brings us something new and original is taking a risk that people will like their new and original game. YOU may find it crappy, but that is fallout of making a new and original game. If everyone liked it (ie WoW), it'll likely NOT be new and original.

just cause its new and original doesnt mean its gonna be good, i mean if some one made dookiefart flavored popsicles its new and unique but doesnt mean its gonna be good.
Two things would have made the entire game playable.
1. Be able to walk outside the citys. atleast around a bit of jungle.
2. Not seing you boat from a seagull perspective but through you own eyes, beinga able to walk around on you boat. Either you take the helm or you scream commands to the AI at the helm through you interface.
If the game had this I would've played this game, but as it is now its way to restictive. nr1 is more of concer then nr2. nr would just ad to the feeling and fun for me dunno how you guys would react to it.
Would almost rather play pirates of the caribbean online... almost.

I think, Nomatica, that its even worst being new and original like this. You know why?Because we NEED something original and new, but when we have this kind of garbage (as D&L) it kills the creativity and hopes. The game sinks and everyone think that its impossible to do something new and original, they think its too risky, that D&L failed, PoBS failed then probably only WoW clones can work on the market. Which isnt true! Those games are not bad because they are new and original, they are bad because the developers are lazy.
Thought this might make you all laugh...
This thread even earned a special mention.

Nothing says irony like spelling ideot wrong.
The game is fun. I enjoy it but I think the key is having a good society and port contention. In a sense it is like EVE, you should be bashed for saying EVE sucks and is boring without joining a good corp and getting involved in battles. Cause no matter how much you twist it. EVE's missions suck more and its a number one game.
I don't find it boring, lots of stuff to do accually.
Repetitive? Isn't this an MMO forum, why are you complaining about repetition? Oh you must mean grind. You see nomatica MMOs have something us non-newbs call grind, its where you get to do things over and over again while you slowly receive returns on your time invested. Its a tried and true game concept in most if not all MMOs.
Well ill admit the avatar missions suck ballz. But the ship combat is good fun, and the larger ships with multiple gundecks etc....willjust be awsome, and first time in combat, i have had to think ahead...with the wind direction, cannon line of sight...type of ammo...board or not board...is thier manpower down enough to make a aboarding viable...etc... options, planning, and more it a good time...and i cant wait for pvp

This isn't really true, IMO. Grind means running the SAME QUEST over and over. Repetitive here is complaining that all the quests are pretty much the same. Hell, like 80% of the melee quests even use the exact same landscape. The quest objectives rarely vary, except possibly in the textual reasons you're escorting, blowing up, or avoiding the ships.
Some people like the repitition thats all I'm saying, its being pushed like its a bad thing, but that is not the case for everyone. And if you have played MMO's before you would know that alot of what your doing is repetitive and alot of people don't seem to mind. If you can't tell already MMO's are growing in popularity.
It's true that most games have grinding as a "feature" but I think THAT is exacly the thing we want to change here. And lets face it with todays technology and resources we can make a game fully dynamic. The problem is how to best present it to the players. Also it's quite a gamble with dynamic MMOs since the large quantity of people currently playing MMOs wouldn't recognise themselves and would reject the game.
I think the trick to "grind" is that it's mostly optional. Grind is generally a way to keep your 30-50 hour a week power gamer happy, reward that grind with uber stuff...give them something to do for that time.
When just your basic, casual player levelling and questing feels repetitive and grind like, I think it could be a real problem.
lol i love how people complain about grinding... in mmo's
WOW.. 9 million players... what are they doing.. grinding the same thing over and over to get there uber level 70 sets....
... SWG.. grinding 27 professions out to get Jedi.. (back in the day..) before jedi was a profession..
EVE grinding.. not skills or levels. but money... or resources.. MINING....
i could go on and on... EVERY MMO has grinding.. thats part of what keeps players playing a game..... hell look at WOW again what do you do when your level 70 and you have your full sets.. cry about there being nothing to do.. and then grind out areans.. or roll a new toon and grind him up to 70...
at leaste in POTBS you can TAKE somthing away from other players.. (eg. TAKE over PORTS.. for your country.. so when you are finished GRINDING out your level 50 char. in POTBS you will have somthing to do still... like taking over the world!!!!.. and then 6 weeks later.. when one side wins... you take over the world again..... (oh wait thats a grind as well i guess..). but at leaste it will be fun.. and you wont be doing the same missions over and over again to grind out level 70 toons.. you will be fighing over the map (all of it).. and you will lose ships and money in the process of making others lose LAND and money and ships..
1. Learn style and punctuation, I mean goddamn, was your english teacher a 2 year old or something.
2. PoTBS is the most uninspired boring MMO of 2007-2008. The gameplay sucks. It's a grind because there's almost nothing to do in the game.
3. Learn to write.
It's so amusing when someone criticises someone else's use of punctuation and then uses incorrect punctuation themselves.
It's so amusing when a game flops and fanbois defend it until the bitter end.
You know, I realize that my cousin the comma is an exciting form of punctuation. Heck, I'd concede he's right behind the exclamation point in sheer coolness. Please don't forget about me, your friend, the period. The comma just isn't right for you, and you're not right for him. Look how poorly you've used him, totally neglecting me. what about our friend the question mark? You've left him sobbing in the corner. What do you have against him? I know we can work things out baby, just give it a chance.
With love,
Your neglected punctuation.
Agreed, that is funny.
