ive been playing  Eve now for a 3-4 months off and on(about half on  half off and before that eq2 for like 3yrs) and while i like EVE  the game in all regards  except the skill over time thing( and i mean i love EVE  other then the skill over time aspect). Honestly i hate that part of it to no end it makes me grumpy at times and not want to play at all.

so what im looking for is somehing along eve lines thats just has a different system to advance, i just feel that skill over time is rather craptacular  fro the way i would prefer to play.

( also i should note for all the eve fanbois that will tell me how the system 'works' or what ever be warned im just asking for game that is different not to change your existing system)

i want ganking and brutal pvp

i want a harsh game enviroment

i want a system that allows a sand box style of play

i dotn want to be hindered by an archaic draconian syle of game play that encourgaes players to not play and sometimes not even pay for accounts cause of learning times..

i want ganking and brutal pvp - Oh, so you want to play EVE

i want a harsh game enviroment - Yep, that would be EVE

i want a system that allows a sand box style of play - Sounds like you really want to play EVE

But it does require patience and is not for folks who prefer to "wack a tree 1000 times" to advance their skills.  I'm at the 7 month mark and now really starting to fill out many of my core skills.  That sort of time commitment isn't for everyone.

But hey, EVE's not for you, understandable, it is an "odd duck" sort of game.  You might have to a wait a bit for Jumpgate Evolution or a few other new games still in development to get what you want.  (though sandbox style games seem to be in short supply)

well i wouldnt say its not for me, as im sitting logged into it  now as i was when i made the post in the first place.

its great and yes i want to 'really'  play it,  but since there is alot of games on the market and in developement that im sure i, with my mere mortal knowledge am unaware of,  i was just asking if there is something very similar to eve but with out the skill over time aspect,  i will continue to play eve for sure, and quite happily i should note as well( honestly fantastic game) but i just would prefer that bit of grinding that i like.
