I blame the US Government and all the religious nut jobs and evil superretailers for this blatant censorship!

    Oh wait...

    Never mind ;).

Quote from one of the retailers selling pre-orders of AoC

"Warning: This title is intended for mature audiences. You must be 17 or older to purchase. It may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language."

boobies are meant to be an intimate thing

i have no need to see them

(trying to force me too see them is just as gross trying to force me not to see them)

hope there is a toggle for choice

Just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions.

i think its the best idea the developers could have thought of, and thats not because im a pervert.  im pretty sure the fact that this game is, in fact, a true mature game the mommies and daddies out there will think twice before buying his or her immature child the game.

horray no more chuck norris jokes.

Yeah, right, you believe this and I've got a bridge I can sell you.

I'm a bad parent, my 15 year old son will be playing AOC right along side of me.  What ever will you do?

What the hell folks, they let him drive a car (with me next to him) here in Florida, why the hell wouldn't I let him play a video game.  Besides nothing the developers code into the game will be as crude as the players we've met over the years in a variety of MMORPG's.

Now what I want to see is them start to advertise AoC on tv but when they do I want them to plaster the 17+ on the comercial and stick it in the middle of the 6 o'clock news so that parents who see it will know it's 17+ and not buy it for their kids and later try to sue FunCom for scarring their little evil spawn with breasts.

I for one aprove of all the changes.  I still want to know more about the ranger and what the diference between first person shots and "lock on" firing is.  Can I aim for specific parts of the body to gain some specific effects as in shooting the leg to make them run/walk slower or aiming for the head and droping the target in one shot.  Ok well the one shot kill is a bit far fetched because then everybody would want to make a ranger and it would be like playing a AWP map in Counter Strike.  Maybe just a better chance to crit, perhaps blind the target with a shot to the eyeball?

    Inquiring minds want to know!

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

  • I got the same opinion as Sabradin.

Not to mention I'm only 16     And my rents won't see this as a good thing... pixel boobies and all.

Hopefully I'll still be able to get around this.  Like an option to turn off certain things, in this case, boobies.

But if not, I'm sure you guys will probably enjoy one less youngin' playing your game.  Was fun riding the ride of AoC prerelease.

Still, hope to see you all at launch.  Good to hear the ESRB has seen this ill logic that blood = no worries, decapitation = no worries, yet pixel boobies = OMFG, and not gone along with those insanes that think this way.

Wow... you know just cause you keep some kiddies out doesn't mean there won't be any immaturity... I just watched the video link posted above me and well, if there are a bunch of people like that in it, the maturity level of the players won't have risen much.  (Sorry if you're one of those guys on the vid and happen to read this :P)

  • eric_w66eric_w66 Member UncommonPosts: 1,006

Heh, M+ won't keep kiddies out, it only meant that WalMart and GameStop will carry it.

  • LeucentLeucent Member Posts: 2,371

This game gets crappier everytime i see a new vid ugh

  • TerranahTerranah Member UncommonPosts: 3,575

If your maturity is such that you can not see breasts without being traumatized than you sure as hell shouldn't be playing a game with dismemberment and decapitation.

This is cultural.. they are not a big deal (or a small one *cymbal crash) in many places and cultures.

1st of all you wont see them everywhere and always. Female chars need, as much as male chars, an armor to survive. Remember ? Mitigation and stuff like that.  There will be a few silly jokes in the first 2-3 weeks and thats it then. Gameplay will take over.

2nd. An example from a european beach.  Well, topless is rather common over here. But not "bottomless".  Sometimes you want to change your wet  trunks after a swim and you try to change them under a towel.  It might happen the towel  falls down once in a while. Guess what people do ? jep, they just look away to respect your  privacy. If you dont want to see boobs then just look away. There is no tattoo "STARE AT ME" on them ;)

Here in the United States we are fixated on boobies. We elect them to Congress, and every four years we even let a bunch of them run for President.

...yeah right an M rating is goign to make the kids stay away. Anyone here remember when they were a kid ....get into a movie you wernet supposed to? music cds?  ....hell ,kids are still getting alcohol and cigarettes if they please. You think a little thing like an M on the front of a box is going to stop them if they want to play it?

The only reason this game is going to have a matur ecommunity is because it doesnt appeal to most youth. Not that kids are the real problem anyway ..... its more of the young adult crowd who are the most annoying.

Its a good thing the the US will see how we in EU look at the human body. Its nothing dangerous or something to be outrageoues about.

Im very grateful for Funcom to make a EU game and the rest of the world just have to accept the fact that cultures are defferent. Then again, if you have read the Conan books or the old Conan comics. You would know there is a nudity and sex, but what the gell....he is a barbarian.

Well, LOL then AoC will be the cure. First time a naked female barbarian rips of you head you are cured from fixation. :D

  • wolfmannwolfmann Member Posts: 1,159

    Oh crap...

Now the game will be overrun by drooling men and teenagers, who's been trained from the day they were born that "boobies = droolage".

I bet ya, that within weeks of launch, we'll have "mothers group for anti boobage rights" group popping up left and right, trying to ban this game... That or force the devs to add bhurkas to all female models.

Well, all I know is a naked male Senator playing footsee and making hand gestures in a Minneapolis airport bath room created even more of a fixation with boobs.....

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The U.S. has a very weird set of moral values.  Gratuitous killing is perfectly acceptable in virtually every  game on the market, MMO or otherwise. But GOD FORBID if a game company markets a game that shows a naked breast. GIVE ME A BREAK.

Yeah I wouldn't put money on that.  18 isn't some magic number that makes people stop acting like idiots.  Plus I'd bet a good portion of the immature idiots in current mmos are legal adults.

If your expecting there not to be mass orgies in the town square and chuck norris jokes just because this is a M rated game your kidding yourself.  You can't fix stupid so it's best to learn how to ignore it.
