Hi, I am not a big mmo player but I want to get back into it.  I'm not much of a fan of wow and after quitting for a year I really don't want to level up and be with immature guilds and such.  I have guild wars but imo it isn't an mmorpg.  I have tried FFXI and found it to be incredibly boring along with tabula rasa and (im sorry to say it)lotro.  truly there must be an mmo for me.  I would really appreciate any suggestions for a game to try out or purchase.  if you have any URLs to free trials i would gladly accept them.

any setting is fine, pvp or pve focus doesnt matter to me but hopefully it has pvp, and if it requires a monthly fee id want it to be better than average.

    My suggestion:

Look to the left of your browser under Released Games and just go down the list, everyone of them is a viable option and most if not all have a free trial. Also, if you didnt know, click on the little picture next to the forum name and it will bring you to a detailed set of info with a link to the main site and the news surrounding the game and a brief overview and in some cases a review from the site.

try something that isn't main stream or tries to be.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

warhammer requires a monthly fee, but i think this game is awesome, you should give it a try. Zu online doesn't require a monthly fee and is totally free, it also has pvp, decent graphics and all the stuff that a mmorpg has.

There are quite a few games that don't require a subscription fee, along with many games that offer free trials. I know that most of the mainstream MMORPGs (WoW, EQ2, LotRO, etc.) offer free trial periods; I would really recommend that you take a closer look at some of those games. As Korvix already mentioned, you should browse through the list of currently released games. Also, Age of Conan will be released in the upcoming months, so you may want to check out that game as well.

Free trials to paid games can be your best friend.   I'd suggest maybe trying EVE online or City of Heroes/Villains next.    The ones with the paid subscriptions that have been out for more than a year are going to be the most polished, unfortunately you have tried MOST of the big name games (WoW, Lotro, FF).   EVE and CoX seem like the next logical step for you.  I'm not sure if you have a favorite genre, but EVE is sci-fi and CoX is modern superhero stuff so that could be enjoyable.

Otherwise, i'd say apply to the beta testing for both Age of Conan and Warhammer Online and see if you can get in.  At the  very least it would chew up some more time until AoC comes out in a little while.

That being said if you are still bored, head to the list of released games and find some free ones to try out.
