These are my ideas for a Non-Liscensed MMORPG. I havent developed a story yet. But these are the main points of gameplay.
1. Clan / Guild based Pvp
GUILD TOWNS--- Kinda like in GW where you can buy guild houses, you could have that available but the guild house is shown to everyone. not just your guild....so there would kind of be like guild established towns. Just think about it. One Town of maybe 10 different guilds could cooperate and form an alliance, maybe even set up a market area in their "Town Square" to sell to allies inside their Town. Also before purchasing the Land to make the Town on, the first guild to build on that land would design the town (Tony Hawks Pro Skater Style) and be able to place Inns, Shops, Fountains, Roads, a Castle, Trees and shrubs, Gardens, maybe even Stables for the horses of the guilds. The possiblities would be almost endless.
CLAN WARS--- Have rival Clan Leaders be able to attack eatchother to make potentially massive Clan Wars and fight for ownership of the Town or Clan House (only if you Challenge...if you just go to their town and attack them you will only be able to loot the town...not obtain it). So guilds could become almost Napoleonistic and try to conquer every guild and control their Town or House. Imagine 100s of players on each side forming regiments of Cavalry and Archers and Infantry and then charging in to meet the other clan in a battle to the death. The PvP in this game would mean something, not like WoW where you are competing to get a little better armour or weapons. You are fighting for your land, the land you built and die to protect.
PLAYER LOOTING--- in Clan Combat you would be able to loot other players corpses and take their stuff...when they are ressurected they will NOT get their stuff back.
GUILD MESSAGES--- a copy of guild messages would be displayed in the Main Building of the Town or Clan House in the form of a letter or scroll and other guilds would be able to infiltrate your Clan House and steal your plans if they thought you were making battle plans.
2. Elder Scrolls Style Engine
FIRST PERSON CAMERA--- Oblivion style camera perspective
OBLIVION STYLE GAMEPLAY-- The same Combat Style Oblivion has as far as blocking and attacking, but the hitpoints would be way less. No more taking 100 hits and still fighting. The health would be alot more realistic (like 5 hits before you are dead or unconsious). Also you would be able to ride a horse from the second you log in (no waiting till level 40 then having to spend tons of gold to buy one) but also be able to fight on horse back. The sneak style would be the same as oblivion too...and pickpocketing would also be the same. Like if you were a rogue or stealthy type character you would be able to infiltrate another clans house and steal their battle plans or supplies.
I'll take a Legacy of Kain MMORPG . Maybe after Raziel got his wings ripped off ,but before he was reborn. If I remember correctly there were 7 vampire clans . You could be a(prototype) soul reaver for the squid thing ,or a demon hunter ,or even a survivor from Raziel's clan after Kain ordered it destroyed.
Hell yes, or after Defiance. Or something dealing with the supernatural with lore and ancients dating back over serveral thousand millennia, and the more you find out the more power you gain over yourself and surroundings. something neat like that.
Also, I always thought an Old West MMO could be cool as well as a classic Kung Fu MMO (with twitch combat enhanced by levels and gear -- this seems more possible now with faster online speeds to avoid the lag that would have been a huge block to this in the past.) By classic I mean not modern martial arts but like old Shaolin temple era stuff. Yea, yea I know there are shaolin temples still now but I mean something set a few hundred years ago. You know -- like the classic Kung Fu theater movies.
I'm going to approach this question with, (as is my wont, ) the entirely wrong viewpoint.
Instead of focusing on the specific franchise I'd like to see made into MMO format, I'll comment first on the specifics that I'd like to see:
1. One character per account, forcing players to really care about their virtual self.
2. Less focus on acquiring "uber" gear and more on enjoying playing the game.
3. A different approach to levelling; in essence making the "level grind" into an elongated character creation system where moral decisions made and quests/achievements completed improve/impair your character in a variety of ways.
4. Player driven economy making dedicated crafters both prized and useful (tied into 1 and 2)
5. Faction based PVP that has meaningful objectives/benefits with a third "non-combatant" faction for those who choose not to participate.
6. NO BLOODY RAIDS THAT LAST 4 HOURS AND ARE SCREWED UP WHEN THE TANK DISCONNECTS!
7. Player/Guild Owned Cities/Housing
8. Support for social gaming for those not looking to just kill stuff/people.
9. Hardcore RP servers with events that GMs actually participate in.
10. Casual/Hardcore friendly end-game.
As for settings.. I'd love another Star Wars/big budget sci fi MMO (Doom/Quake? universe), Fallout would also be great.
It is a cool time period and I did think of that -- but I would prefer that the game not be a tie-in and not even constrained by any external story content, aside from the general Star Wars Cannon, etc.
It would be a cool period though -- but I don't want to feel like I am playing another show or movie.
Alright, I don't know if anyone watches this show, but i think an Avatar: The Last Airbender would be an extremely cool mmo. Imagine being able to pick an element to start off with and be able to fight through the fire nation, or something like that. I am sure if someone ever made it, it would be really cool.
Kingdom Hearts ---- Best Single Player Game Ever Made. Here are the MMO games I have played/tried: Runescape, Silkroad, Xiah, Hero, Rakion, Diablo 2, Gunz, WoW, Maple Story, Dungeon Runners, Flyff, 9Dragons, Astonia III, Last Chaos, GW:Nightfall, Hellgate London, Knight Online, Perfect World, Thang, and sadly Puzzle Pirates.
and to a lesser extent a Boot Hill or Gamma World mmo would be interesting.
Of course with the right vision and implementation almost any idea can evolve into a great game but starting with a tested platform gives you a leg up imo. Ok, I made my yearly Shadowrun rant back to lurking.
Bleach online! are you insane, that show is no different than all of that other anime crap, and now you want a mmo out of it, sheesh! sorry for being such a biotch, but I really hate anime if you couldn't tell.

a Star Wars mmofps/rpg would be cool..
Yes to both of you, but the time should take place between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope to coincide with the time line of the Star Wars live-action TV series.

Bleach online would be nice. Also something with feudal Japan with samurais and ninjas
