I really need some risk/reward type pvp but I can't seem to find anything. Give me something, 1 item at least. Where is the game? I know somebody out there is playing a game in which you can at least loot something in pvp.

EVE, Shadowbane. Lineage II to a much more limited extent. PotBS to a limited extent.
Runescape has nearly full PvP looting.
the wild server on wurmonline has full looting, going all the down to looting entire towns if you have the manpower to. you even loot skills to an extent when you kill a master in a trade you have a small chance to pick up a temporary affinity to his skill which gives you a bonus to it, and of course all deaths in WurmOnline you lose some skill at higher levels on skills that take longer to train you can end up 6+ hours back in time(assuming skill was your only goal, either way you were going to need to make those swords someday anyways).
did I mention it was a sandbox game with townbuilding.
the only problem though is that it's very much so an indy game.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
Neocron has some, but its very low population. EQ2 has some looting but its limited and geting more limited, also the twinking in that game makes the PvP a sad joke.
Asheron's Call (PvP server, FULL looting, no restrictions at all)
I seem to be referring AC a lot lately, maybe I should give it another go, its been over 5 years....
Shadowbane is getting a server wipe soon, so it might be a good time to start fresh.
Wurm Online, I also hear it cures AIDS.
Darktide is full Open PvP from level 1. From level 1 you can be killed by a level 275(max). I forget what level it is you start dropping items when you die (in pvp and pve) maybe its 10? There is ganking. It is anarchy. Its a BLAST. It is a skill game as much as a level/gear game. It is somewhat of a grind though its not nearly as bad as it used to be.
Going on any other server will net you pink PvP (its PvP but with no death pentalty and no items dropped) and because of that, its all you will find on thoes servers. O yea, VP or vitea (death penalty). You dont loose exp but your stats suffer a -5% penalty with each death. Only way to get rid of this is to kill PvE mobs. You can handle 5-15% (1-3) deaths before you really start to suffer and need to go kill things. Message me if you want a more indepth description of the game and I will be glad to get back with you, but for now I am out of time and its time to go home from work
There's a few sandbox games with pvp looting coming soon.... There's a few out now that others have mentioned as well like L2, EVE Online, and AC1 Darktide
edited to keep mouth closed about games in alpha....

until darkfall comes out, I'm mostly stuck with WurmOnline since I like to build and build towns(raids can make it a bit more intersting but I only care for them so there's something to focus on). I would totally play EvE if you weren't so 'detached' from the empire building aspects, and pretty much everything else.
I'm not a fan of PvP, just a fan of empire building which lends itself heavily to PvP.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
Meridian 59 still is the only game out there that has truely full looting and real death penalties. Amazing after like 12 years, no one can make a better game.
EvE online has a pretty decent PvP system to it. To begin with there is no such thing as a safe zone [just Safer] in EvE. When you kill someones ship first of all that ship is lost with no hope of being repaired its lost and gone. The Equipment on that ship such as its guns for example are fully loot-able in a Wreckage model of the destroyed ship. There is a chance tho that some of the Equipment will be permanently destroyed tho including any cargo the ship was carrying.
Also any implants the ships pilot had will be destroyed if you succeed in killing his escape pod. This is the main reason that EvE's in-game economy is so healthy because items don't last forever in this system of PvP so its good for crafters as there will always be a demand for there products.

Pretty good turn out thanks for all of the responses... its going to take me some time to sort all of this out.
