Vanguard is a dying game like Planetside where SOE only puts a tiny dev team there and hardly any funds because it's not making the money to justify this, Planetside only isn't making the money cause SOE failed to address the issues after launch and carried on making new ones. SWG is pretty much on the same boat but the only difference is LA would probably take the license of SOE and sue them or something lol, so SOE has to keep development on this game more so than PS. Then you get Vangaurd which has just cost SOE money and not even had a great launch with hardly anyone playing and theres sooo much wrong with the game it's a even bigger task than making the other two games good lol. So tbh i can't really see SOE putting much funds into the game and not wasting any devs on it too, they're going to be putting all their efforts in games like The Agency and free realms and that DC comics mmorpg....
I just think the fans have to realise that this game was dead before it was already released and any development the game has will be very slow and wont be doing much to the game. It's a shame yes but there isn't the player base and there's just sooo much wrong with the game it just doesn't make any sense to bother with like a NGE for Vanguard lol.

To be honest, I don't care. As long as I enjoy playing I don't mind funding a "tiny" development team.

I am having fun, that is the point of me playing VG.
A lot of people forget that the reason to play games is to have fun, kinda sad but true.
And as to VG dying, I would say it's quite the opposite tbh, I started about a week ago and I'm having a blast and everywhere I go I always seem to see people everywhere, no less than what I used to see in FFXI and that's in GMT primetime on a EST server.

Yeah this is a pretty pointless thread right here. Im just wondering why the OP would bother bringing this up? Guessing their goal was to try and anger a few Vanguard fans, pfft. Im not a big fan of Vanguard. I loved the graphics and variety of races, etc, but didnt really enjoy the combat and diplomacy. There may be many, many things that people dont like about the game, but it also has done some great things I have yet to see in other MMO's, but thats just my opinion. Anyway whether you love the game or hate the game, there is no need to create silly threads like this with no meaning. It just shows you are a troll who is just trying to get some attention and true fans of the game aint going to care what you think, because as they have stated, they are loving the game and having a blast. Maybe you should just keep playing the MMO's you enjoy and stay in those forums where you might have something positive to say.
At the moment I'm enjoying my time in Vanguard and that is all that matters to me, I will not play a game I did not enjoy and have fun with and I'm sure the majority that play the game feel the same way.
I do agree with the OP that SoE have put the game on a back burner with the size of the dev team and all and from reading VG's offical boards and this one most of the last updates were mostly completed before the last cull of the dev team. I'm hoping SoE prove me wrong and release regular updates, but even if they don't I will still play the game as long as I'm having fun or something else comes along.
You may hate the game but it is slowly growing. Yes SOE is starving the game and slowing development by not funding the game but it is slowly getting better despite SOE. But the reason SOE is not developing Vanguard is for quite different reasons. SOE has decided EQ2 is their game and the game they will fund and market. Vanguard is the red headed step child they bought to lower their risk against losing EQ2 customers. Now that the risk is gone there is simply no reason to fund this game even though it is a much better game with much mroe potebnial than EQ2. Vanguard draws form the same base that plays EQ2. Essentially funding the game will result in targeting the same base they are targeting with EQ2. This might be a bit short sighted as BG arguably has the potential to do much better in the future than an old poorly designed EQ2.
While the game has flaws there is so much right with this Vanguard. No other game on the market can compete with vanguard's combat or fun and diverse classes. Yes it is flawed but with time it will get betetr and peoples machones will catch up to it. By the time AoC and Warhammer release in late 2008/early 2009 Vanguard should be a much better and competitive game. Will it ever have more than a 100k subscribers? Maybe not? Is it worth playing and will it be worth playing? Yes depending upon your playstyle. APW has been a huge success. Nightly there are 50+ people in APW in each of the 6 shards on Seradon. They did a fantastic job with APW. They have 2 new raid zones in testing waiting to come out. But they need more content for people post 50 that choose not to raid and they need to clean up the unfinished 1-50 content. None of this will happen soon. But even at SOE's barebones development pace by sometime in 2009 Vanguard should be a very complete well done game.

For me, it seems most trollers lurking the VG-forums throwing their VG complain-threads all over are too busy waiting for some hyped game to actually enjoy some game which is live.

Vanguard was crap in Final version and its still crap now, go ahead and play it if you like but stop trying to make Vanguard look good because its not and it never will be. Characters look dull and dead and the game is a lame version of EQ 2 and the servers lag for everyone in Scandinavia. And all this constant whining about how good Vanguard is really start to make me feel sick, because the game is crap. And all the posts people have written the last months about how everything has changed and how good the game has become is also pure and simple CRAP.
Lovin every minuet of this awsome game. I dont see why youd want to post about a game dying. It just doesnt make any sense. I am glad your here to remind us that we arent as lame as you though. Id takes some A+ Lameness to even write something that stupid. I'll try and feel guilty about enjoying this dead game or something.

SOE do not care about funding this game too much and it'll be left in the dark by all their upcoming projects, so don't expect much to change over the next few years.

Different strokes for different folks dude, and it doesn't say much that you play Sword of the New World and Anarchy Online.

The game Sword of the New world can be played on auto, since there is auto defend mode but I guess you dont know that since you havent played it. I wasnt even at the computer 80 % of the time

Since you cant say anything good on Vanguard you go for the games I played before, I see you are one of those guys. I have played 90% of ALL mmo´s so I got more cred than you anyways.

Complain about what games I played before when we are talking about Vanguard, I guess you ran out of ideads talk good about Vaguard so you go for what games I played before to make my comments look bad, guess what you fail and so does the crap game VANGUARD. I played it in BETA, FINAL, and also played months after FINAL when they are said to have "corrected errors, fixes bugs,fixed mem leaks. And stop with the VANGUARD IS GOOD COME BACK POSTS, write that on the VANGUARD FORUMS.

Very true differnent strokes mate, sotnw I had on auto for days from level 1-50 I just had to move when I leveled passed not getting anymore exp. It was a boring game since it was auto defend mode on and not much to do in it either. But Anarachy Online is a very indept game and the playability is better than most games out now 7 YEARS later and people would know that if they played passed level 100 on AO so the revamping on AO will be good I think.
