Test Server without the 3GB download ?

Just wondering if anyone has found a way to get the main client to patch to the test server without having the download the whole friggin "test" client again ? which is probably 99% identical.

    STICKY THIS PLEASE!!!

Creating a PTS Client From Your Live Client

    1. Copy your TR installation to a new directory.
    2. Open the registry editor and browse to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARENCsoftTabulaRasa ".
    3. There should be a value present labeled "InstallPath". Add a new String Value called "InstallPath (PTS)", and set it to the path of the directory you just copied the client to.
    4. (Re)Start PlayNC launcher. The PTS client should appear below the live TR one.

Cheers 70MB is alot easier to stomach

although I'm surprised the devs couldn't have just released a small exe file to do this , I mean how hard is it to write a program to copy of a folder and edit on line in the registry ?

Acutally now that I think about the devs are crazy as every player who download the test client is costing them 3GB of bandwidth instead of 70MB ? heh how did that one get past accounts.

    Vista - whats that?

Anyone running Vista should be forced to download the 3 gig ten times over :)

My computer is running Vista, so those instructions work for XP and Vista.

I see, its just that i thought the vista registry was different to the XP one, so i thoguht that the key would be different (or is that for 64bit only ;) )
