The ui, the maps looked very simaler to LOTRO.
That being said, I can't wait for this game to come out because I think it will blow lotro out of the water!! Lotro's pvp is junk and it has no end game content, so this game might take the bonuses of lotro and take it to the next level.

Every mmorpg has the same looking UI and the same gameplay, just a question if they've fixed what's been broken in the past mmorpgs or not.......
My problem with the level based system is once you hit end level theres no more character development and just find yourself doing end level PVP or raids which gets boring. However in games like SWG used to be or EVE Online your constantly evolving and changing your character which works very well.

REALITY CHECK
When blizzard invented the MMORPG, they decided, that every UI has to look like this.
For some reason looking at Kilmar's post makes me feel sorry for him
Indeed haha xD
Sarcasm ftw ?

Waiting on... Who knows?
Looks like someone hasnt seen an AC2 UI.
wait..you are joking right?
I mean, that has to be a joke....
I mean, ohh god, please tell me you were joking!
When I was watching the movies here I sat and thought: "Hey! That looks exactly like LOTRO but with smoother movement". Now don't get me wrong I've played other mmos but I really thought it looked like LOTRO and not WoW or anything else.
Actally I'd take the looking like LORTO a compliment, yes LOTRO does follow the 'classic' MMO playerstyle, however in terms of landscape and graphical quality, LORTO is outstanding! From looking at the WAR viedos even tho most are nearly a year old when the game finally gets release hoping it is Q2, it's pushing for that same quality, although being of Warhammer design, the feel and little details they've put makes it truly stunning.
Bring on the WARRRRGGHH!
b/c WAR is in Earth.
Well, you have to admit this is a new one.
I guess we'll be seeing "WAR looks like DDO" next and "WAR looks like Pirates of the Burning Sea" and "WAR looks like My Little Pony Online."
Heh, too true.
I find it funny because human begins naturally find similarities in order to relate and understand things - it is instinct. But some people turn around and use this to flame away and such, which is silly.
Of course a game with high fantasy races in a high fantasy world will look somewhat familiar to other games with high fantasy races in a high fantasy world. This is normal. If they looked radically different then something would be wrong, like a Picasso painting. There are only so many ways to make a human, an Elf, an Orc, a Dwarf, etc.
And actually, now that I think of it, some of the colouring and texture styles do remind me a bit of LotRO, which I also feel is not a bad thing. While I did not like all of its graphics, I felt its use of colour and such was superb. If EA Mythic pulls that level of quality off in WAR, I will not complain.
LOTRO stole it from Wow and WoW stole it from Asheron's Call etc, etc...
I wonder if we worked hard enough if we could reduce it all to Pong... it might take a string of a few thousand games, but it might work.
Any day now someone's going to discover the first nerds frozen in ice around an ancient prehistoric D&D board...we'll thaw them out and they'll try and roll a saving throw to protect them from the obviously terrifying future we'll be introducing them too...and they'll try and make game figurines out of pens and it'll just be a mess...

See, here's the thing though, I completely agree.
And I am not offended at all. Throughout the normal countryside, WAR looks like LotRO, and I'm ok with that, because I love the style. Now, compare LotRO to a place like the Marshes of Madness, and see how it stacks up. But still, even if there is a zone like MoM in LotRO, I'm still ok with it. LotRO is a pretty game. WAR is a pretty game. That, and I honestly DO think they look extremely similar (as opposed to the' WAR looks like WoW' trolls who post a picture of two dwarfs next to each other and go "Look! It's the same 'cuz they both have dwarfs!"), but I honestly have no objections to this. I don't think they copied Turbine, I don't think they cheated, or were lazy, or whatever.
They'll be the same game that plays entirely different from each other (like EQ2 and Vanguard). I think this is fine, and we should keep these apparent similarities with a grain of salt, because they are still different games.
lol
Warhammer has always prided on being iconic, and it was Tolkien who established those icons. Warhammer just made the icons more modern and wacky and cool
The OP was talking about UI and maps, but your point applies to those too, Sornin. People expect the UI and maps to looks medieval in boths of these games so of course they'll look similar. You expect maps in a fantasy game to be dark ink on parchment, not brightly colored maps on graph paper.
I like the idea of prehistoric RP-nerds. The game could be Monkeys and Mammoths and the point is to evolve to a Neanderthal
"Ogg, roll save on 2-sided rock or you slip while climb banana tree"
"Ogg roll 2! Me save!"
Game X is so gonna pwn Game Y!!!!
Who cares? Can't you enjoy a game without wishing other people have a less enjoyable time playing the game they enjoy? And no, I don't play LOTRO. Never even tried beta. Just speaking generally.
It's like building a new house on a street, then hoping everyone elses homes around you have major fires and burn to the ground. That way you can say you have the best looking house on your street. Makes perfect sense to me

I find it odd as well. I can't understand people who post "Game X is so gonna pwn Game Y!!!!" unless they are being facetious. My loyalty really doesn't extend into that territory. I'm not fanboy enough.
