Stromm is the best server for new people.

If you want to get on a server that is populated well in every zone check out stromm I used to be in Torvon and I would rarely see people in Blackburrow. I had to actually search for someone in the zone with the who all command and see if they would like to play with me.

Now that I am in stromm it makes it alot easier. If there are 10 people in blackburrow then that zone is low in population. I average blackburrow in stromm between 15-20 people and I have seen 30-40 people in that zone in one time.

If you are starting out on EQ I would suggest stromm server it will really help you in finding a group and gain those levels that you need to become a level 65image

I never played that server but any new server is good for new people because old server is mainly bazaar and planes. Newbie and low lands like anywhere besides 60 places are no one there.

I want to cast magic missle.

I have played on Stromm, and found the overcrowding of some lower level zones to be reminiscent of the bad old days.

I've never had any problem finding people to group with at any level on any of the other servers I have played on. I just go where the experience is. Blackburrow is relatively crappy experience, unless they've changed that in my absence, which might have something to do with it being empty on other servers.

Yea Morden Rasp is the newest server right now but Stromm has the tag that has Newbie beside it so alot of the newbies just click on that server than any other server thats why I think that stromm is the best newbie server I am already at 65 with my enchanter and it took me a few months to do it.

Blackburrow has a 33% exp bonus so isn't crappy. But, compared to the 114% of Crushbone, 100% of the Warrens or 114% of Paludal... well yes it isn't big, but the gnoll tooth quest is a major exp boost if you can make it. On Firiona Vie there is still a lot of newbies in those zones image

Hence the use of the word "relatively" in my post. Relative to other zones in the same level ranges, the experience in Blackburrow stinks like an old cheese stuffed into a sweaty sock. I was just explaining why that zone, and others like it, are empty on many regular servers, where people are generally more interested in efficient exp than roleplaying.

I am not necessarily defending that practice, and I have to admit that my recently rolled human necro settled in on the ledge with the elite gnoll guards for a while himself. But most of the time, he was alone, or one of 3 people in the zone, tops. I went exploring a bit too, with a high level cleric in my pocket, and stuffed Baby Joseph Sayer into my backpack. (I have no intention of returning him to his parents, however. I figured I'd stash him in the bank with my collection of heads.) Blackburrow can be fun... but if I really wanted to level faster or get a group, I'd have gone elsewhere.

I recently started playing everquest, having tried all the newer mmorpgs, I finally succumbed to the temptation and rolled up a character.

Stromm was my first choice since it was tagged newbie, and i have to say that it has been great. There are plenty of people about to group with and there are some very helpful higher folks about too.

    Highly recommended.

Alreal, what race did you choose?

Not all starting cities are populated

I am a half-elven ranger. Started in Surefall Glade nr Qeynos.

Seems to be a reasonable amount of traffic through the area, I dont much about other starting points as I am weak as a day old lamb and travelling can be risky!::::14::
