If you've looked at official eq2 tech forums you can see posts like this( I have a 3.4 with a 6800 ultra oc and 2 gig of pc 3700 ddr 400 on a 1000 fsb mobo is this ok) why must people post ludricous messages like these?

Bah, if you ask me having bleeding edge hardware makes you an idiot. It'll be half the price and half obsolete in 6 months, and considering game development and release strategies, having brand new gear gets you nowhere anyway.

Its not only a guy thing.. we just say it more openly.. my car is better than yours women dont say I have bigger tits than you, they say you know ? it would be nice if you had tits as big as mine.

This general rule doesnt apply to sex life though.. for some darn reason women discuss their sexual life more openly than men will ever do.. believe me... I've heard...

What bothers me most is why do people brag in general (about their computer, car, mony, holidays,...) I find that quite annoying. Even somze of my best friends do it. Stay yourself that's much better in my eyes.

I don't know why you bother posting a thread like this, it is just as bad as you make them out to be but to answer that, people like to show off what they spent their money on making an ultimate gaming machine and kind of compare them with other players machines. I have an amazing machine but I dont feel the need to gloat about that, I use it for what I need, gaming. I bought in hopes that it would run any game that I plan on playing smoothly but if I had a custom done case and such I would show off that because it is something different and people can just see what it looks like, and maybe get some opinions but nothing more.

ya, if you dont have around a 20 gig spot for eq2 your screwed.. game is prolly 10-12 gigs installed, then patchs over like 3 years prolly round it up to 20 gigs.. patchs or expansions, you know within a year there be a expansion or 2 bringing it to 20 gigs unpatched...

I think there is also an element of post-purchace reassurance going on there too.

The little ole subconcious starts arguing with itself about whether or not you did the right thing spending all that cash on item X, so you brag about X everyone goes wow and you feel reassured you made the right choice. Advertising is also aimed at telling the people who bought their products they did the right thing, not just to lure new victims in. ::::40::

Speaking of advertising and being lured in, Alienware have ripped out my heart and will only return it if I purchase an Area 51m, I was wondering, Kielia, how does it cope with the latest batch of games (mmorpgs in particular)?
