TO LATE TO START?

cichy1012cichy1012 Member UncommonPosts: 347

Been on and off EQ2 for sometime now..  I keep going back, get new expansion, but it only holds my interest for so long. Played WOW and eveything out there except this game.

Is it to late to start?

Where do I start: What server with the most population.

How are the graphics?

Thanks

It's not too late, i pick up the game again 2 weeks ago, and cant seem to put it down, if you pick up of the most populated server you probably will find it easy to group and pvp.

The graphics are surprisingly good, thinking about how old the game is, with the 1600x1050 res that is :D

For me it's still the best game around, compared to all those crappy releases we have been getting for the last 3 years.

Classic cluster is where you want to start a new character.  Gareth is the most populated server, however, if you hope to buy a house one day, consider starting on Ector or the other one as the land costs are much lower.  You can still go anywhere on Gareth you want to so no need to start there unless you don't think you can figure out how to make your way to that server.

I think you'll still find plenty of lower level players to hang with (US servers) and good times to be had.

While the end game is the new frontiers at level 50, you can have major fun at several of the lower level Battlegrounds.  The first major ones are from level 21-25 (I forget exact range) and the next one is around levels 32-35 as I recall.

In fact, some folks turn off their experience gains (you get exp from killing players in DAOC) and stay in the Battlegrounds forever.

Won't take you long to get to 50 if you decide to race through to the frontiers though, so get started and don't worry, plenty of life in DAOC for at least the next 6 months (or until WAR comes out).

But even after WAR comes out, unless Mythic pulls the plug I can see people going back to DAOC, because I think WAR will be a significantly different game experience.

Heck, with the recent AOC pushback I might re-open my accounts for another go at it.
