Has the movie "Office Space" ever inspired you to quit a job?

I used to wait tables at a Ram's Horn when I was younger and something about this movie just resonated me and I decided to take the rest of the summer off.  It was one of the best summers of my life.  Take this job and shove it!

no but it has made me have weird dreams about it.

Most of which involve telling my bosses exactly what they think.

But im perfectly happy at the moment in my current job.

no but it has made me realize that I am pretty much the manifestation of the main character in real life.

I am FU**ED.  I need help.  Seriously.  I've worked for a major company in Canadian entertainment and I couldn't care less... I feel like I'm at a loss no matter what I do... I JUST don't want to be another monkey in a suit.  I Really REALLY do not want to be some cog in the wheel.. So what do I do? I don't know... what do you do when you feel like the whole world of jobs is full of BS?  I donno

But OFFICE SPACE was an awesome movie though :) I feel like people live as robots in a world where everyone's forgotten what it is to truly be HUMAN... they just do their thing, whatever they're told, 9-5 until they can finally go relax.  I'm a lost cause because I can't seem to do that :(.

Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

Movies, music, and video games do not influence my life.

What greater tribute to free will than the power to question the highest of authority? What greater display of loyalty than blind faith? What greater gift than free will? What greater love than loyalty?

One of my career goals was to take an extended "break" mid-career.  After saving a decent amount of money i was able to walk out the door.  That was 18 months ago    With the pending crash of the US economy i am beginning to get a little nervous.

Yes, I quit a job right after watching it.  I took my time card and wrote "I quit" across it with Red Pen, then tacked it to the main manager of the company I was working for.  BTW there are 3 managers who worked above me.  So if there was a problem, you wouldn't stop hearing about it until 3 weeks later.

You bet you I have. I worked a corporate job for Best Buy. It was the worst thing ever. Filling out paper work, dealing with five different bosses all breathing down my neck all day, learning the corporate ways of the world. You know that "Is This Good for the Company?" meeting that they have in Office Space? We had almost literally the exact same one. Also, I was in a TPS reports type of situation, where three different people came up to me after I messed something really small up that has no significance at all to the final product, all telling me the same thing.

I quite the job, took a computer tech job at my local university, and now I get outside and get exercise, walking around campus fixing computers, working with awesome people (my boss is great), and I can leave work feeling proud of myself instead of dreading the next time I have to work.

It wasn't so much a direct influence of Office Space, but that's in part because Office Space is just captures the horrible jobs of the world so damn well. I would have quit the job even if I hadn't seen Office Space.

I spy on people to find those who litter. When I find one I follow him home. If he has a car I come in the middle of the night, smash his car window and empty a garbage bag inside.

There's only one real problem, it doesen't pay much.
