poor guys...

Just like many of you, I saw the pre-launch hype and stood at Gamestop with the CE in my hands and JUST ABOUT took the leap!  I didn't thankfully, and opted to give it a try first.

I can't help but feel bad for everyone who did take the leap that day and paid 70 bucks for total garbage.  I mean even if they get their game in a good place in the next year, I'll pick it up for 19.99 maybe.

As for the posts with "what if's" and re-releases, I know what you mean, it is just too bad that this game (like mxo and various other SOE games) are just falling on their faces.

I actually spent $50 on the game.  I have played a total of 4.5 months.  I have really enjoyed myself with it for at least 3 of those months.  Overall, I don't feel bad.  I got my money out of the game, and if it improves in the next year or so, I'll probably go back for a little more fun.

No biggie, and certainly not something worth trolling over.

I don't feel bad for the people who bought it. The only hype about this game coming from reviewers was negative. Of course, we were all called trolls and haters. I guess trolls and haters can be right, too.

Clearly this game is not ready for public consumption yet. I dont feel bad for the people who were duped in the first year. There was tons of information out there which provided plenty of indications on the quality and state of the game.

Having said that SOE has not begun any advertising blitz, the game has no free trial and the trial areas are not in yet.  You are still playing a pay to play beta as far as I'm concerned. Yes this game needed one more year of development and Sigil proved to be entirely incompotenet.

Despite the venom for SOE they are a compotent company capable of developing a title. SOE will have had direct control of this game for just about a year (give or take can't remember exact dates).

The fact this game has not been marketed YET should be an indication to you all that its simply not ready yet. Based on everything i've read (if any of it can be trusted) they have as many people working on this as EQ2 and are being asked to deliver in a fraction of the time.

If you're going to flame a game get your shit straight ffs.

I hear the Beta is almost over for this game.

I wonder if a game could be successful if they were using the model of a free mmo, but just said they were in beta for an eternity.

Most people scramble to a beta, but run from bargain bin mmo's... it's a thought.

I play VG every day because I love it even more than I did in early beta.

Don't feel sorry for me because I'm happy, and that's what gaming is all about :)

I know people will say, they are trolling posts, but they really weren't. One simply asked when the game will be released as it was intended and not hurried. Very polite, no snide remarks, just the question of how many months I should hold off.... apparently being a money-wise consumer is not acceptable in a "preorder or die" market, where SOE wants all of our money before the game even hits the plastic discs...
    Not me sir.

Are you shure about that part, not trolling and get posts locked?

I just picked up the CE on Sunday for 19.99.  I haven't been pulled into a game so quickly since EQ1.  I have not had a chance to experience the entirety of what the game has to offer yet, but the bugs I have come across thus far have been minor.  I have yet to come across a bug that has made me want to log out or quit.  The best thing so far about VG is the community.  The ratio of loud mouth degenerates to helpful quality people is damn near reverse of what I experienced in other MMO's.

You can get a collectors edition for 10-15$ on ebay.  Maybe less if you are patient.

I don't understand why people come into this forum just to troll it....

I hated VG in open beta. Performance was terrible, the game felt half-finished, and I decided not to buy it.

Now, a year later, I can't wait for a free trial to get a new feel on the game. I forgive the developers/company/even SOE; there are many games that are driven by a need for immediate revenue whether or not they want to release.

The wound has healed and I'm ready to give it a second shot. Now, someone has to get the trial area in good order and let us in!
