I think it may actually be good. It has a somewhat decent storyline. Even if it sucks, it's like Freddy vs. Jason. You gotta see who wins.

I never played the game but I have seen the movies Alien (which was ok) and Predator (which was better then alien)

From what I've seen of it, it seems to stay semiclose to the comic books. I think it'll outshine Freddy vs Jason, though anything could do that, so it's not saying much.
Scarier that AvP is the rumor of Jack Black as the Green Lantern played as a wonky The Mask ripoff. Or Keanu Reeves as John Constantine of Hellblazer. The trailer looked cool, but very Matrixy.

Predator better than Alien?
Did you watch Aliens (note: Alien II) at all?
IMO, the single best sci-fi thriller of all time - willing to bet most who have seen both would tend to agree.

Seeing as how the Predators created the Aliens for training the younger Predators, I would say the Preds would have a better chance than the Aliens. I, however, don't care which of the two 'win' so long as all the humans are eaten and/or dismembered in a spectacular fashion.

well theirs 2 games that was made AVP. one was for SNES (or was it sega? I played it and it sucked) and the other was for Xbox i think. I don't know if the movie will be good but it does make sence. If you watched P2 when the dude was in the ship and he looked at the collection of skulls the predators had, one of them was a skull of a ailen.
Do you guys remember the game Robocop VS Termanator for SNES? Do you think if a movie was made of that instead of AVP would be better or worse?

ive played the game and cant you be a marine in the game? and in the movie there are only explorers (well in the comercials.) plus i like scifi movies so i might go see it.
according to the story boards there won't be a stale mate, either the predators kill all the aliens, with who's ever left bringing home a trophy or predators have to self destruct when over taken.
i would think predators would win, but it might make it interesting for a sequel movie if the predators get wiped out with an overwhelming number of aliens on earth and to see what the adult preds do about it or the humans.

Alot of action movies are going down the drain nowadays, and are just getting whored with CGI effects. Ah, i remember the good old days of action movies. When they were actually good.
"Speed" will always be a classic. "Con-Air" was great, "Sudden Death", "Terminator" and "Terminator 2" (Notice i discluded the third movie
).

Fun fact: The Aliens were designed by HR Gieger, a very dark artist who paints alot in only green gradient tones, he also designed the alien in SPECIES (the worst prono ever) and he also has painted a couple scenescapes where everything in the paintings were made out of fetuses... hes a little weird... and creepy... and disturbed... he scares me a little to...
But I see where your going with this Rath and I agree, with the over use of CGI we don't need action heros anymore since we can make cgi clones do all the fighting for them... Greatest Action movie is still Die Hard 1. Bruce willis proving you can kick the ever living crap out of the good guy, and the good guy can miss to, and still hoble along to the win
Geiger is an amazing artist. I have Necronomicon I, which has alot of his work from the Alien film, as well as his concept work for Dune.
If you watch the special edition of Alien from the Quadrilogy, Geigers work on the design is much more noticable on the derelict ship.

If anyone can locate prints available from these artists, i am in search of these for my office decor. It's time to make the natives aware....
