LF F2P PvE mmorpg

...so im looking for a mmorpg thats focused on PvE instead pvp, or doesnt use hardcore pvp like looting from players or open pvp and that stuff... i just wanna try to lvl a bit in peace (on my own or with a group, but i lack patience waiting for groups) also i want to avoid games with extreme numbers of botters/gold sellers (like silkroad)

ive already made a list of mmos that seem nice to me, games like RF Online/Perfect World/Shaiya are too much pvp orientated and/or bot infested (i think, correct me if am wrong) but heres my list of games im looking into:

Hero Online, 9Dragons, Last Chaos, Sword of the New World, Martial Heroes, Metin 2, 2moons, Maplestory, Cabal Online

if any of these games on my list are more pvp orientated plz say so that will save me some time downloading and which game do you recommend most (out my list)?

So far, it seems to me most F2P games have strong PVP elements in them. But, since I haven't played very many I can't offer you any advice. I'm sure if one is more PVE oriented than the others someone here will let you know.

ya more ppl said so, its ok for me if i can pvp from time to time but in these f2p games im not planning to buy cashshop items so ill be at a disadvantage in pvp anyway

I THINK 9dragons, 2moon and cabal are all fairly pvp orientated at higher lvls. Could look at flyff, pvpers get sent to jail if they are not in a arena area or something like that.

i just started playing Zu Online and its pretty unique. i think its very PvE oriented. i mean, the level cap is 300 . there are a ton of special events and what not that go on within the game and as far as i know, there IS PVP but its not focused on that. im not sure what their focus is but its pretty good none the less.

Sword of the new world has a seperate PvE server and PvP (baron) server. It's kinnda like diablo 2 on steroids.

hmm even if games like 9dragons are more pvp at higher lvl even then is it open pvp/player looting/perma-death? esp looting/perma-death or open pvp games with tons of pkers is something i want to avoid

as for flyff it doesnt seem to interesting for me, also i dont care i can fly at some lvl :P and zu online seems like a nice game, and im not that picky on graphics...but i dont really like the anime/cellshaded style, and it has open pvp after lvl 30 (so i heard)

i forgot to mention i played one mmo (also paid) for a few years, which is Anarchy Online great game but lack of time -> last big update was not my cup of tea with the new nanos -> want something different

about the graphics overhaul, i already experienced one when i was playing it and the "free program" kept going, but i already paid at that point.. tbh i dont think the free program will stop anytime soon, many free players explored the game and went on p2p (just like i did) and funcom knows it the only reason to stop the free program is when the game gets really crowded which is unlikely to happen, dont get me wrong.. the community is healthy, enough action going on everywhere, but almost everyone is a vet that just cant quit this game

i didnt pvp too much in the game but the battlestations can be fun but they are also pretty necessary if u want good gear, i ended up with a pvp rank, it was the lowest tho :P

anyway, anyone got any recommendations or corrections for the list i posted (games i think that are more pve then pvp)? thnx in advance

Try either Mythos or Dungeon Runners. They're both mmo-lite hack-n-slashers, both primarily PVE, both with plenty of quests, etc... Dungeon Runners is F2P with a non-intrusive advertising model or a very cheap ($5/month) membership while Mythos is free because it's in beta. Mythos will continue to be free after beta, but I they've got some sort of microtransaction model in the works, I believe.

Either way, they're both worth checking out. I believe these two games are going to be big in 2008.

from what i heard in both DR and Mythos u dont have big persistent world just cities to gather and instanced dungeons, bit like guild wars. i prefer big persistent worlds, on the other hand many ppl seem desperate to get a mythos betakey, ill look a bit more info on those games up

just wanna say im playing 9dragons now, and its pretty sweet.

I havent experienced lag/bugs so far, community is friendly altho most ppl are solo. also i havent seen any goldspammers/bots the only downside is the grind (of course) and im not far into the game but there are lots of quests to keep u entertained, actually im like a kid waiting for christmas when im waiting on a new quest also ive found 2 blood essences on my second day of playing (lucky me? lol)
