I give up on MMo's. I have lost interest in all of these MMo's currently out on the market, and WAR has even lost interest in my eye with some of the changes in restrictions. Only game I can stomach now is a free shard of a game I shall not mention. None the less I have just given up with these games that feel they need to copy the WoW interface and terrible game play, and shitfilled graphics of terrible textures.
When will Darkfall come, because no game out now peeks my interest at all, and the games coming out this year seem to fall into the (O we need to appeal to the 5 year old WoW kids which sucks).

If only developers would realise there's actually a huge market (possibly not as big as the PVE market, but still huge) for a HARDCORE PVP based game. What we need is somebody with Aventurine's bravery and the money/backing of a massive company. Basically we need to reassemble OSI and get UO2 on the go. :P
The PvE community have hundreds of MMOs to play.......we have maybe 3! UO (11 years old) SB (7 years old) and EVE....our "newest" PvP MMO. Ok, we have some korean grind styles to..but....
If there wont be a DF, then we are *#"¤#¤. And then will i also give up MMOs.
Your point is on the mark, but I don't see Darkfall rectifying this situation. If that was the plan, I think the game would be further along and developers would be advertising the intention. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think an new game will need to be developed. One specifically designed to address the problems we all know are there.

It just came to mind when I read the thread title.
DF would fit the bill, however the probability of it ever being released is unfortunately not very high atm.
We can only hope that after enough companies fail at attacking the WOW monster by creating copies of it that they'll consider trying to make something different.

Yes Darkfall will be by far most intresting and only game to play in future becouse almost all others are easy carebear and instance.

More elitist, stupid, mindless WoW-bashing. You guys hopefully realize, that just because you prefer PvP, that you are NOT "better" or any kind of more "l337" than anybody else who doesn't (or at least not exclusively)?
You hopefully also realize, that without the PvE crowd joining you in playing Darkfall, you probably have nobody to play (and gank) with?
Furthermore, do you guys even realize that your attitude towards PvE oriented people, really doesn't show you guys coming off as being mature? More like the 14 year olds you probably are. (My apologies if this is not the case nor the intention).
Trust me, I'd love to try DF, but I'm certainly a PvE oriented person (with occassional PvP sprinkled in here and there). That doesn't make me any "better" or "less" than you guys. It's just what I prefer. The attitude of some people here makes me want to think twice about playing this game.

I'm sorry but ragging on other games for "dumbed down textures and boring graphics" while praising a game that looks like this is hardly warranted. I started to get a headache while looking at screenshots of DF and thinking of how it would feel to play the game. And how do you know that the UI for DF isn't going to be similar either? Nothing I've seen even shows the UI of DF. Wanting a 100% original game that takes no elements of past games is setting yourself up for complete and utter failure. Got a feeling you guys are going to be disappointed in the game and end up playing AoC or Warhammer anyways. Because everyone wants massive battles with massively intense graphics but they dont want to spend the money on a computer that can handle it so they massacre the game and it fails. (ie. EQ2. Graphics gave it a buzz but WoW had the more playable game at launch so it took off and grabbed players from it.)

1st of all pvp is not at all about ganking, yes there is alot of ganking tied to it, but i like end-game pvp and most of all gvg, where tactics and group composition actually count. Most people coming from wow seem to neglect that part of pvp
2nd if the PvE crowd u are talking of is of the wow standards no thanks. I d like the classes to be balanced and well thought out, not nerfed to oblivion and back because some kids cant handle it. Also i fail to see how full player looting is gonna fit in your plans, lets say u just raided (no such thing in DF) the legendary sword of king leonidas of sparta, i then kill u and take it from u........ dont seem pretty pveish right?
3rd games are not meant to be played by every1 m8, i love football ( the real one ) and i m decent at it, on the other hand i dont like basketball and am not good at it, should i ask for the hoops to be lowered or something??????? No i should probably stick to football and leave basketball alone.
4th some people dont like to kill some dumb @^$ mobs controled by the same stupid AI all the time, does that mean they are 14 yrs old? no, they just dont like it plain and simple

DF will not have classes, if this apply then the skills someone uses will be different and somewhat unique to his char to bring balance there will be difficult and in my eyes wrong if balance means a 50% / 50% to win .Skills will have their chance to beat other skills in certain situations and in others not.
If my archer is firing arrows from behind and above the wall of my castle i will hit and kill your axe man, then i climb down the wall and loot you and you will have a 15% chance to hit me maybeby throwing your axe.
You see no balance. If you meet me on a flat field and in a disnatce of 10 meters well my chances to survive are 15% . You see no balance.
I hope DF will not balance their skills to each other but maybe balance them to terrain and the enviroment. Because i fear their will be a whine about balancing and well i can understand that somewhat because after loose you get looted i will warn everyone.
Don't ask for balance your skill to some skill someone else is using , you will destroy the game, be smart learn how to use your skills to your advantage instead and deposit your goods in the city.

I don't know wtf you are talking about because all I read was I love to fap to nightelves in WoW, but I don't want a game to ignore the past, but I want it to revolutionize something and not just be a half baked rehash of a previous game IE with WoW straight ripping off EQ. I actually hope Darkfall copies a lot of the pre-ren UO stuff that they said they are focusing on.
Another fine demonstration of the average supporters of Darkfall displayed by some in this post.
“Hope springs eternal”, hope, faith, hate for the disbelievers and disgruntled desperation seem to be the major motivation for most dark fall supporters in my opinion, critical thinkers need not apply.
All I can say is prepare to be disappointed and don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
I especially enjoy people talking so informatively and factually about the features and game play of Darkfall when its not even in beta yet, considering the majority of what we have to work with are only years of developers talking, screenshots and a few minutes of video.
Or people so ready to criticize other games when Darkfall fails in so many aspects especially considering some of them are hugely successful released MMO‘s when dark fall cant even get into beta after many years, and when many of those very same criticisms can just as easily be applied to Darkfall.
I thought that too when I read the title. Then I remmeber how Princess Leia only saw Obi as he was getting pwned by Darth Vader. (We all know that Obi couldn't beat Vader and letting his gaurd down was just a haxzor cheat to get to to get to transparent jedimode.)
To all the fanatic fans looking to this game to be THE mmo. You'll proboly get disappointed if you let yourself get overhyped. It IS JUST a game after all. (Or will be if it ever comes out.)
It was made by people IT WILL HAVE FLAWS. Hopefully not any big ones. It's made by Greeks too. Remmeber, Greeks forget to put arms on thier some of thier stautes. (Now don't go all Spartan on me.)
As long as they aren't Vanguard level flaws then I am fine.

The people that are waiting for Darkfall, those of us that know enough about mmo's that we realize that WAR and AoC will be just another WoW clone with small tweaks are indeed better gamers. Those of us that don't want game mechanics to hold our hand so we don't get upset because reality is to harsh are indeed better gamers. That is pretty obvious we are better.
It's simply the evolution of a gamers, most of us started at humble beginings with single player games or got into mmo's through the likes of Everquest, since then I have evolved into wanted something more from mmo's and I am now ready for something real, something hard, something with a core. I am ready for Darkfall.

I hope this game comes out for you guys, I do mean that sincerely, you're obviously unhappy with everything else. You have a different sense of fun and enjoyment and it looks pretty unlikely that anything else is going to come out that meets your needs.
