S! Gentlemen
I am curious if the softcapping issue been resolved?
I quit in late Nov for a few reasons but the main one was the softcapping craze that was created with TOE's. I know in order to have a breakout you need to have some softcapping but what was occurring in game was simply wrong and not fun "IMO". Capping a few towns then having to holdup made more sense to me simply because the game is PVP not PVAI.
Making a breakthrough then capping 10 to 20 towns without resistance save maybe a lone truck or paratroopers. Makes the game become watch the map cause the (50% Brigade AO's) are pretty much empty especially late night (after 11pm EST).
Have the RATS stepped in and limited the insane softcapfests or have the opposing HC's finally made a gentleman's agreement to limit those for the best interests of the game? I miss WW2 online but the softcapfests were a dealbreaker with me. And I mean for both sides....it sucks equally when Allies or Axis get on one of these rolls.

Yes, softcaps can only be a percentage of combat AOs. I am not sure what percentage but a guess..if 3 AO are up only 1 can be a softcap. A guess..more likely 5 AO can have 2 softcaps. 1.28 is very close to release and has a lot of great additions. The map is an intermission now while we wait for 1.28 so the campaign wont be altered in the middle or have to wait on 1.28.
That's not exactly the answer I'm looking for but thanks for the response.
I just canceled my account in Nov of 2007 and the rule of (50% of AOs have to be against a town with a BDE in it) was already in the game I think it was added with TOEs.....My problem was the AO's on BDE towns were usually ghost towns because most of the HC focus was on softcapping towns to the factories while the defenders could only mount token resistance from Paratroops and an occasional Naval/Air BDE.
The AO's against towns with BDEs defending were left pretty much empty with the occasional opposing MS/Armor unit looking to snipe/deploy. The main focus was to cap all the empty towns possible. That left alot of people looking at the map screen looking for a battle.
Keep in mind I usually only play after 11pm EST as I try to spend the primetime hours with my wife and kids. So my above statements reflect on that time period and Not primetime hours in which you can almost always find big action. Thus my question on if "softcapping FTW" has been addressed and curbed. I enjoy the game but when this softcapping leaves you either looking at the map or staring at an empty FB/AB for hours I prefer not to pay to play that.
So again that's my question...Have the Rats addressed this issue or perhaps the opposing HC's made a gentlemans agreement not to exploit softcapping to the factories cutting off every BDE on the board. This became a hot issue on the forums in Nov....I think the thread was named "Is this map fun for anyone?"
And both sides are guilty of this the Axis used to do this through the zeelands before TOEs but recently it has been the allies breaking a hole and capping to KOLN leaving the line stagnant and empty.
See I want to resub just not to stare at the map screen while HC has their own softcapping spree. I think they should limit a breakthrough to 2-3 towns deep before they have to stop and allow the lines to reform. I prefer to shoot at other players not kill AI defenses and hump empty town tables or watch this occur from the mapscreen.

nothing wrong with softcaps if you join HC and play 10 hours a day, then maybe you'll see the relevance. the answer is no, quit your job divorce your wife, drown your kids, join HC and youll enjoy the game to justify paying 15 a month, unfortunately the people whoa are able to do that are in the minority which the player numbers show. Dont make the same mistake of resubbing if youre a semi casual gamer looking for fun like I did, a waste.
Yes, softcapping is lame. We need more people in the forums to continually point this out to CRS.
Ther percentage is lower than 50% I believe. CRS understands the issues and will fix it. As for having to play 10 hours a day to have fun that is just silly. I play a few hours and even less lately and always find a fight.

Well then, instead of looking at the map, you should've been spawning into the AOs where there were brigades.
The HC only place AOs, they can't force players to join any particular battle. If people are at the map screen while AOs are up on defended towns, then that's their own fault.
The whole, "Let's blame the HC for everything," is just retarded.
If you choose not to spawn into a battle, that's your own damn fault.

Interesting approach Troll
If you had bothered to read my post you would see that no where did I blame the HC's. All I asked was if the rats have addressed this or if the HC's have made a gentlemans agreement not to exploit this.
As I was a member of the forums I know it was an issue and "DID" cause a loss of subs. Deny that fact if you wish but we both know what the sub levels have been for awhile. So instead of flaming the question of someone who is asking if a specific issue has been addressed answer the question or read the post and move on.
This is not the way to approach a prior player seeking a few answers that is considering returning to a very good game. Thank you

One other thing I have noticed visiting this forum. This is a rather dead forum so a new player has very little to go on about this game. Has anyone considered making some screenshots of the armor and planes and asked if it could be stickied at the top? Give new people a chance to see what's waiting for them.
Dont hate the player hate the game, I blame CRS for creating these viruses and letting them flourish, not the viruses themselves. HC is a virus.

No, you were given the answer that only a certain % of AOs can be soft caps and you decided to ignore it and go on a further rant about there being times where there is only soft caps available. It is wrong. You are the one who is trolling by ignoring what has been posted that did not fit into your rant.
