The REAL reason AoC was pushed back a couple months..

LustmordLustmord Member UncommonPosts: 1,114

Purely speculation, but I think the reason AoC was pushed back was to give everyone a chance to get their tax returns so they can buy/upgrade their computers with Dx10 Video Cards and plenty of RAM.

I know that's what I'm planning :)

I doubt tax returns will get people DX10 cards and Vista I know mine won't..... not to mention Vista is crap compared to XP as far as overall performance.  As longas you have 2 gigs you shouldn't have to update, although having 3 to 4 is far better than 2 with HogZilla running.   Not to mention they're a forgien company they could care less about US Tax return season.

They pushed back because the game needed to and they were in denial until they got scared by what people were saying.

Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!

They have pushed it back to far now maybe. I just hope ppl dont change there minds about the game. WH is coming out now about the same time. So, they may have some trouble in this move.

I don't know about waiting for tax returns, but there is no doubt that having more powerful graphics hardware in the hands of their potential customers is a good thing for Funcom. That this game may be too graphically demanding is my only real concern about it. All the current games that make extensive use of DX10 run poorly, except on very high end machines. (Anyone see the specs for the PC version of Assassins Creed? Outrageous!) NVidia could possibly have it's second generation DX10 cards hitting the market about the same time AoC is released, but if they're going to cost $600+, I'm not sure how much of a help it would be. I like gaming but I like to eat too.

Can we talk about anything interesting more than the game sucks or rockz (its not released yet and we dont got information) and about the "pushing back reason"? we will never know why is pushed back... only the one that took this decision knows....

Yeah, but what with us that need to pay even more tax at that time?

    Love subbies joke.

But people who "get money back" when filing taxes need to seriously redo their w4, why in the heck are you giving the federal government an interest free loan on your money?

People who have to pay taxes, your doing it right!

The way government robs me, I'm pretty sure I can buy a dozen of DX10 cards.
