Since this game will be released on the 360 as well as comp i was wondering a few things...
1. How are they servers going to work? Mixed? Segregated?
2. How much control will be able to be obtained on computer if the game is also set up for a controller with less amount of buttons and abilities?
2 1/2. Will they be different games or will the computer have to be dumbed down control wise to make it closer to the 360?

Still in development... nobody knows...
As has been pointed out in other threads, the XBox 360 version is going to be done later (no one knows exactly how much later) than the PC version.
Now that doesn't give us finaly, but I'd say it hints that a) the servers will be seperate, b) the game will be scaled down for console only, since it was originally developed for the PC and c) that it's not even sure yet there -WILL- be a 360 version. All I can get from FunCom themselves is "we would like to" but no certainties yet.
Anyway, this topic has been discussed thoroughly already. Be mindful of angry people flaming you in the near future.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
Well i dont read the forums constantly and I figure a repost shouldnt piss people off enough to flame unless they really have no lives other then flaming someone who was curious and couldnt easily find the answers to his questions... But Thank you for answering them.
If you go to game stop or w/e online they are offering pre-orders to both 360 and pc so i was wondering about them.
Im a hardcore pc fan but even if your a avarage pc player and a game like mmo is more designed towards console so you have a more awkward controls i would never go for such a game.
A keybord and mous movement is always superior compare to a gamepad so big loss if we have awkward movement becouse of that.
Hope to build full AMD system RYZEN/VEGA/AM4!!!

I dont think the servers will be segregated. Controls in the game can work for 360 controls like final fantasy 11. Plus 360 players can always use the keyboard and mouse anyway.
I think the controls won't be too much of a problem. The way the combat is working I think the 360 controllers will work well, and maybe even make it easier than a keyboard. The one thing I don't get is how the chatting will work, will you need to have a keyboard for your 360 to be able to type chat? Seems odd to me.
Other than that, the game will probably be exactly the same on both the PC and the 360. Would be cool if they make is so PC players can play with the people on 360.

Be prepared for a horrible game.
PC gamers and console gamers don't mix.
Oil and water.
I think the question is which type of controller is better for you: a game pad or keyboard and mouse and from the FAQ it looks like since combat requires aiming to hit then the gamepad will work better. I feel it will be kinda awkward to use the keyboard (use skills and move around) and mouse (to aim) for some people. I hope the controls will be designed very well as it can make or break this game.
here's some news for you, the Xbox360 version will ship at a later date - and be a bigger game..
Because it will ship with the expansion.
At the same time the PC version will get an update too.
ETA for the Xbox version is still some ways off.
Oh and the whole server thing will be partially up to Microsoft, with the xbox live / gold etc details. So there won't be any news in this area for a while.
I have a question.
Will people that play on the 360 have to pay twice?
I'm not a big console gamer, but don't they have to pay per month to use xbox live?
Would they also have to pay the monthly fee for AoC?
Just curious.
No because I played Final Fantasy 11 on the 360 with the free x-box live membership which is the silver membership so I only had to pay for the FF11 account. Its the gold membership that people have to pay for in x-box but you dont need that to play an mmo. All you need is internet connection.

I might rent the 360 version and check it out. Seems like that format will be the cheapest method to make the game run, cause frankly, I lack the funds to power this game on my PC

I dunno how they gonna put a good MMO on a console. I mean, just to start mouse and keyboard are way better and faster to control movements and besides that there are too many commands, abilities and shortcuts to fit in a gamepad. Unless they have some new and revolutionary control system i just think its gonna suck. Im for the PC all the way so im a bit suspicious but thats what i think.
Maybe the game is going to be tailored to play on a 360 controller because all I have seen says it will easily.

I saw in one of the stickied threads someone asked a question about can you use the 360 for the pc version. The answer was somewhat to of a yes, but it is still being worked on. I think it is in the FAQ in the community event thread. So if they are keeping the 360 controller in mind it shouldn't be to awkward I guess. I thought that combos = abilities. Not just one button press unless your a ranged class. It can be done.
Elder Scrolls Oblivion was done well on the 360, I didnt have any problems playing that and AoC is kind of similar when it comes to combat. I find console controls easier for moving and melee but PC is better for long range targeting. Moving is easier because the stick on the controler is more fluid than WASD, to me at least.
Then don't mix them :P

Good point! I was thinking this too while reading these posts. The 360 has USB ports on it so you should be able to plug a keyboard and mouse into the console. So it should be like the PC then no problems. I found this www.xcm.cc/XFPS_360_PRO.htm which would probably be what 360 peepz would need. Who knows maybe MS has something up their sleeve for an exclusive 360 keyboard/mouse setup??
This one of the first MMO's that will be releaseed on the 360, won't is? Will be interesting to see how the sales go.

Regarding this I dout it will matter. I can't see how they wouldn't mix, they are both playing the same game, so you would think they have played an MMO, or at least an RPG before. Which means the probably like to play those types of games, which makes them (in a way) the same type of gamer. Just because they use a console, doesn't mean they won't mix.

I could swear I remember reading Hellgate: London was gonna be released on PC and a console, but the community was to be segregated because of the inherent advantage of keyboard/ mouse over joystick. That ring any bells with anyone? It was from a Roper interview in one of the gaming mags about six months ago...
Evil will always win, because Good is dumb.
I dout the servers will be segregated though.

This is definatly a hot issue with AoC, but they don't have any good answers for this issue. At this point it appears to be more like a ploy that was used in order to attract more subs than actually implimenting AoC on 360. We'll see though...
I was wondering if the grafics will be in anyway the same. and if they plann on makeing a keyborde and mouse for the xbox if you will need to play with a controler.

The early hints to 360 release may have been a mention of their budget planning earlier in development which included the option. Since then, resources may have been reallocated following later development changes and extensions. Ensuring a quality launch becomes top priority. FunCom will wait until after release to survey their customer base and decide if revisiting the 360 option is viable. If the initial customer base falls within a certain range, FunCom will give 360 launch the go.
Furthermore, I believe that the servers will be mixed between the platforms and game(play) will not be scaled down for the console version. Allowing mixed servers supports the possibility of having the 360 launch give boost to PC-side progress (despite the opinions of platform separatists, the opposite case is very unlikely to happen). New servers may be availalbe to accommodate more players and/or specifically those who prefer to start in fresh competition. The latest battle system that I have seen does not have any immediate "bad for controller" features - control on the 360 (without a keyboard or mouse) is much more capable than some may think!
