I believe that WAR will cave and incorporate stealth of some form into the final product.
I just can't see it being left out of an MMO at this time. What do you think?

There will not be stealth period. Not sure why you ll say they re going to cave, most people i know and have read their comments are happy with no stealth so nothing really to cave to. Also not really on topic and not picking on OP in particular but why do so many people say an MMO
I wouldn't have anything against stealth (as some of you may have noticed) however I'm pretty sure Mythic has made it official they won't include stealth in the game. I don't believe stealth will be in the game.
Its not entirely Mythic's choice to not have stealth in the game. There is no stealth in the Warhammer lore and GW might have something to say about it even if Mythic did want to put it in.
I do believe that the "rougish" classes will have some kind of speed boost so they can get close to their target quickly. *hint hint*

What you really mean is there will be no invisibility in WAR. I'd love to see stealth in the game but not the ridiculous interpretation of the word that other MMOs use.
I'm really curious as to what will happen if by chance a number of classes "maybe 1 or two" does have stealth in the game what will most of you nay sayers do then?

Guild Wars and WoW (these I know for sure) have a step through the shadows type of attack. Your character has the ability to use a skill that allows you to appear behind your target from a reasonable distance away. It gets around the :hide in plain daylight complaint while still giving the 'rogue' a stealth ability, of sorts..There won't be stealth in the game. But I strongly believe there will be limited abilities that will render your character invisible for a period of time. Whether they are class, race, or consumable abilities.. or maybe even unlockables from the tome of knowledge... I still believe that there will be some sort of hiding, invisibility, or camo. Maybe not stealth in the form of being completely invisible while standing in the desert at high noon with nothing around to hide behind, but I have a hard time believing that all forms of hiding have been removed. It is just too useful for the scout.. and tactics of war in general. Why is it not reasonable to allow players to hide, but not move around quickly and not attack out of stealth? Maybe a 5 second ability cooldown after coming out of hiding?
It's not that they can't balance it well, they don't even seem to have made an attempt.
90% of the griefing that happened in other games involved players of much higher level killing players of much lower level, for no purpose other than just to kill them and feel superior. EA Mythic has destroyed this form of griefing entirely by adding the chicken and chaos chicken.
In my opinion, any other form of griefing is part of war. After all, isn't that what this game is supposed to be about? This is the same thing that destroyed Ultima Online back in the day. A bunch of the carebears whined about getting killed, and getting their things stolen. So Origin decided to make the whiners happy and created a powder puff girls copy of the same land world, and allowed these babies to go play in their non-threatening candy cane, butterfly field frolicking, carebear inffested tea party universe. That destroyed the risk vs. reward atmosphere that the game was founded on and created one world with hardcore PvP and another world with lame crying baby PvE.
The more games that come out that allow the whiners to get everything they want, the worse the MMO genre will become. Removing stealth is just a small step of many that will contribute to the downfall of good MMO's. I'm really hoping for some sort of hiding. If it doesn't happen, I'll still play.. I'll just be disappointed.

Maybe you should go play Conan if this is the sort of gank fiesta warfare your looking for. Real warfare isn't about hitting some 'invisibility' button and shooting people continously for laughs which is exactly the kind of stealth we're against. If you know how to use the lands around you to take someone out before they find you thats truth tactical stealth and you don't need an ability button in order to do that. The whole namby bamby boo hoo they took out Ganking in UO cry isn't the kind of game WAR fans are hoping for.
UO free for all PVPing old school style is completely different than Realm vs Realm warfare. Just because people got tired of being mobbed by 50 murderers waiting under an invisibility spell and Origins had the balls to try and stop it (though I agree their method of stopping it was utterly ridiculous, they should of implemented perma death chances for those who earned the rank of murder) doesn't make the game candy land much less carebearish since all the really good stuff in the game remained on the PvP side of the shard so you still had to risk alot in order to experience deeper parts of the game.
Your attitude alone from the name calling makes me hope you don't play WAR, we need realm minded people not free for all gankers.

As others have mentioned in passing they are giving rogue-type classes alternative tactics to make their game play interesting and rogue-like.
The Witch Elf is going to get a Evade skill that allows her to go in to battle, unload large amounts of damage and then use her Evade skill to essentially rocket herself backwards away from any other players attempting to do her harm.

I never understood why PvP-advocates weren't satisfied playing between specialists... they always need those so-called "carebears" to have fun themselves, as if playing against equally skilled gankers was too much for them.

It is not necessarily that we are all nay-sayers, it is simply that WAR will not have the invisible sort of stealth, period. Some people cling to this hope/belief that EA Mythic will cave (or come to their senses, depending on the person) and implement it, but it seems highly unlikely as stealth is not a point they have ever waffled on. From the beginning, it has been "No stealth!" and that has never changed.
Anyway, if there is stealth? Of course I would still play. That is not a gamebreaker by a longshot for me. However, I'd prefer to try a game without stealth for once, as I think it could be rather fun, and probably a good deal more balanced, but that remains to be seen.
Thus far I have never seen a development team nail how to balance stealth vs. combat abilities, which I feel usually leads to rogues being too powerful overall. In other words, their stealth is not offset enough by being gimpier when not stealthed, which I feel is vital when you give someone the ability to choose the majority of their fights. Take stealth away from rogues in most games and you still often have the highest melee damage dealer, if not the highest damage dealer of all, sitting there - this makes no sense to me.

Mythic has already chosen the 4 classes for each race, and there is no opportunity to create a stealth class for each realm.
High duration immob/mez/stun = NO
Stealth = NO
Whenever they say no they mean = NO
Stealth doesn't have to be built in as a game system if 1) you can't tab-target, and 2) You aren't attached to a giant glowing name above your head that announces your arrival.
Thats all devs need to have incorporated and then stealth can be 100% player-skill.

Then you maybe should have been more specific in the first post ! Because first law of mmo topics , says that anything degenerate into a WOW topic , unless all posters are very firm about avoiding it. So don't use a term from WOW , there for so many people means invisible , in another way with out defining its use then!
And I know many poster here , that have said in this topic there will be no (WOW) stealth , and the know well and could have told you alot about how cower are planned to be part of the game. And some even did!

The word stealth just has negative feelings to it period, infact stealth even pre WoW usually meant an invisibility button even EQ1 had it, WoW just took it to the next level of idiocy with it being heavily over powered for a year or more.
Anyone who's read about the game or watched the infamous Bright Wizard video has an idea that 'tactical' thought & surprise attacks are definitly doable in the game. You just have to use the terrain which is what real stealth actually is.
If you want to talk about in game player tactics & line of sight surprise attacks and not have it labeled into an ability button of invisiblity gankness don't use the word stealth.
