No idea what the point is. Better wait for the fanbois to storm in and tell you.
NGE = New Game Experience. SOE made a new combat system for Star Wars Galaxies trying to save the game. But they killed it.
Before you lend any credence...at all...to Bafucin, you should realize that this is a guy who's been banned from the main game sites, and temp banned from this one...within a week of the game's release.
1) a really good naval ship combat simulator -- you can have fun just killing NPC's in ship-to-ship combat.
2) a really good economic/production system -- you can have fun playing the market, setting up factories and production lines, and hauling and supplying materials. All the good ships are player made, and each ship requires hundreds of parts. No single player can make even 1/2 of the parts, so either getting into a guild and cooperating, or else playing the Auction House, is required to make ships
3) a really good PvP system -- this is where the combat and economics come together. Either blockade a port to stop goods in and out. Or, take over a port from another faction, and slow/stop their flow of products. Some items, like sulfer, are rare on the map. Take over that port and control the sulfer!
4) a really good Pirate PvP -- just run around and take over other people's ships. Or, hang out at a port that is under contention, and pick off stragglers. Typical Pirate behaviour.
The ultimate game is not raiding, but rather control of the major ports. A full-time strategic PvP war!

Thanks for posting this. I've been on the fence about this game, and information like this leads me to believe that it has game play that I'd enjoy. (I'm an EVE player so it sort of makes sense)
I think once I get my new computers purchased I'll give it a trial.

Realm based PvP (command and conquer) is the end game.
Very similar to the Shadowbane concept but with a LOT more/better PvE/content to hold you over until your character is finished.
Lot's to lose and lots to gain.

In my opinion, the point of almost any game is to have fun. Simple
Unless you are a gold farmer......
Right now the point is to have as much fun as possible before FLS sells out to SOE and they turn around and NGE it.
NGE?

The point of this game is to kill as many French, Spanish and English players as you can.....

You should put that little guy beating his head against a wall in all your posts.
Wish Darkfall would release.
