I'm a 5mil industrial char, still consider myself as a newbie to the game. I like mining with my covetor (may sound strange to you) and hauling for myself or the corporation, I've got an Iteron V for that job. So the other thing side to these 2 favourite things of mine I would like to learn how to manufacture. As far as I know, I think its pretty complicated? I need few things you guys to let me know. What skills I require to start building? where to start? what blueprint I should start with? is it profitable?

I found a good way to try manufacturing: Ammo making. Just buy the BPO for a basic ammo type, for instance one that you use yourself. You can find links to manufacturing guides and tutorials in the EVE-O forums easily enough, they explain the procedure. It has a few steps, but they're all relatively straightforward.
My mini-minitutorial for manufacturing:
1) Buy BP (either BPO or BPC)
2) Calculate mineral requirements for the amount you intend to make
3) Aquire minerals (buy, mine, steal, refine loot etc)
4) Find a free manufacturing job slot in your region (you may have to make a trip to find a station with available slots)
5) Plonk everything in and set it to build wanted amount (requires a bit of cash)
6) Wait until done, go get the stuff and the BPO from the queue or from your hangar (can't remember where it drops it after the jobs done). Presto!
Thanks for your quick reply. I just made my new bloodclaw missiles! I must say this is pretty interesting and will be training for more advanced manufacturing in the near future

Also if you want to manufacture to actually make some profit make sure you skill up manufacuring skills, including mass production and production efeciency to lvl5, that will increase the number of jobs you can have at the same time and reduce the number of minerals you need.
You can also research your BP to even decrease more the number of materials needed and the time it takes to manufacture. But you also need to skill up for that too, cant recall the skills atm but i know you need a couple which are important.
A good way to make profit in less time is to buy the minerals at low prices and then sell the manufactured stuff, but make sure to calculate if its gona give u profit or not before you even buy the minerals. Of course you can always mine them if its small stuff like ammo, but for big ships manufacturing its very time consuming mining all the minerals and you need access to 0.0 (no sec) ore.
