I'm European (Swedish to be exact) and i've always played on the European servers, though i really hope i will find a server with a lot less Swedish people on it, i'm quite frankly ashamed of my country at times..
I just hope people realize that not all Swedes behave the way Slannmage described, i usually only ask if they're Swedish because there are so many it would be almost weird to not have another swede in the group, not to kick them.. i prefer to speak English actually.
You really should have just said North/South America servers. One of the better guilds I was in was mostly Brazilian. They played on the NA servers. Most NA WoW servers have people from both North and South America as well as Australia and New Zealand.

Obviously someone's never played against South Koreans in a game, now there are some arrogant folks. (with good reason, they kick arse in any game I've ever played against them in)
But making broad sweeping statements about any country is usually bad form, and certainly offensive. Glad you won't be playing on the U.S. servers, we need folks who check their ignorance at the door.

From Asia, hope they release a auzzie server like WoW, where i can group with the players of about the same time zone. though Aus is 2 hours ahead of mine, but no problem.
And may they release it together with other servers, dont wana end up playing the NA type and later have to paid for transfer

Actually, it's just been announced that EA made a deal with some Taiwanese company to bring WAR to Asia.
I'll be playing on the EU server as I'm from the EU. The majority of my friends will be on the EU servers so I feel its best that I do aswell, its also good when you have friends to compete against on all games, especially MMos.
Its also good to know you are playing with people from your own country, despite the fact you may not understand some of the languages spoken on the servers

Im Swedish too and in all mmorpgs I have played, I have always played in UK based guilds. I have almost never written a word in Swedish ingame. I feel really uncomfterble if I get in other groups that talks in other languages than English. I tried to join a Swedish guild once but it just felt wrong when everyone talked Swedish. I left that guild in a hurry. He he. My own English could be better, but so far no one have complained. Guildies often gets suprised when I say Im from Sweden.

Thats how it is everywhere in this world. You can't say that americans are the only arrogant/ignorant nation. I've met my fair share of Europeans who act the same as well as Asians. You might as well hate everyone including your own nation because arrogance is everywhere you go. You can go ahead and say its the most in america, but thats BS cause you don't live here. And you're crazy if you think Japan is the least ignorant country. Based on their society they aren't too fond of foreigners to begin with. Try playing a game like FFXI and seeing how much its favored towards JP over NA or EU players. There is a huge difference.

At the same time many people in these countries ideolize the US at a higher rate than many other countries. This is important to note, but it is not like the US does no have support in them. I will have to go on the EU server as I'm from the UK and the timezone diffence with the USA is such a pain If you want to raid. It's such a pity as the American & Canadians are the best people to play with online whereas I find It a horror to play with the Europeans, and especially the UK people who can't spell and can only type in text talk. Also just listen to a raid on teamspeak for the difference between a UK guild and an American guild. You will hear how the Americans have a greater vocabulary than the UK and don't have the boring UK one tone when speaking.
US on US servers. I live in Colorado, which is almost right smack in the middle of the country, so no EU endeavors for me. As Vortex said, he met a-holes everywhere. This is the truth, as ignorance, stupidity, arrogance, etc is truly INTERNATIONAL, as this thread has proven.
As a person who never even heard of GOA before, I would like to ask, whats the deal with them?
I tried to google around a bit for some information, but I never found exactly why everone hate them so much, only that they hate them.
I went to their homepage. Looked kind of cheesy. Tried to click some links but after 1-2 minutes of loading I got 401 errors on them. Things like that makes me a little worried.
Then my next question is... Do I have to own a US copy of the game to play on US servers? When I bought SWG, I bought the US version of the game and I could play on both US and EU servers.
In worst case scenario I can play on US servers, but you miss out a lot when playing with such a big time difference. I did that in SWG, played on Eclipse server for a couple of months before they opened the EU ones. Sure it was playable, but it sure was more fun to be able to play on prime time.
Being Canadian, I have never dealt with GOA. The typical complaints I hear about usually have to do with terrible support and customer service, and poor server stability. But, like I said, that is just hearsay, and similar complaints are levied against all MMORPG providers.
As for playing with North Americans using a European copy of the game, not likely. GOA essentially has the rights to running the game in Europe, and thus you should think of it as running their own, separate game. The game will obviously be the same (save translation differences, depending), but they will have their own servers and support. They will also likely get game updates, which will be made by EA Mythic in Virginia, later than we will in North America, though that is just speculation based on other international MMORPGs I have played. They could be rolled out at the same time, and if they are later it likely will not be by much.
I am almost 100% sure that if you want to play on North American servers, you will need a North American activation key, which will have to be purchased here in North America. You could of course get a friend here to buy a copy and send you the key, or you could import a copy, too.
Afaik they are making English German Italian Spanish and French language clients, and with that they will probably have servers based on those languages...

Are they gonna make it so you cant see EU servers in US and vice versa? When I work at night I usual end up playing with the aussies LOL
After having played DAoC on both european and US servers, i can tell you that i will never ever again play a game hosted by GOA.
There was no service at all to the DAoC players..
The fact alone was enough for me to loose interest in War...shifting my attention to AoC and Spellborn. Since i want to play on european servers.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

It's such a pity as the American & Canadians are the best people to play with online whereas I find It a horror to play with the Europeans, and especially the UK people who can't spell and can only type in text talk.
