I am looking for a new MMORPG for me and my wife.  I have played SWG and anarchy online.  My wife and I played WoW but it took much time to compete at high levels.  The amount of rep grinding and farming for money and mats for pots and such wore us down.

I would like a game that:

-takes approximately 40-60 gameplay hours to reach max level

    -is primarily PvE

    -Has an Endgame

-Has at a minimum at least 1 healing class, 1 tanking class, 1 ranged DPS, and 1 melee DPS

    -that is in English

-Either pay or free, I do not like games where you have a choice and people who pay are given an advantage.

I DO NOT want:

-Heavy PvP (where ganking is the allowed)

-a game designed for and played by children

    -A twitch based game

-People typing in Thee and Thou

Things that would be strong bonuses:

    -A good crafting system

-The ability to make and decorate your own home

    -Strong and helpful gaming community

    -Decent story line and lore

    -Involved quests

Things that are unimportant:

    -graphics

    -character creation

-weather it is Sci-fi or Fantasy based

If anyone knows a game that would fall into this criteria please help me.  I know no game will give me everything I want.  Hopefully, however, that there is one out there that will at least fill many of my desires.  Thanks for your time.  I hope I did not miss anything.

I wish you good luck,  I failed in finding one.

I think the end game part will be hard,  since there are none. Atleast none that takes that short time to max out.

I would like to say Pirates of the burning sea,  but since I got so bored after hit 50 , I cant.

please feel free to toss out ideas.  I know I have a lot of info but, I do not want to make people feel like they have to find a game that fits all of it.  I would really like some good info.  Thanks.

40-60 hours to completely level a character is pretty fast for casual play.

what's the big hurry to get to the fabled "end game" content ?

anyway... EQ2 isn't a bad game and meets most of what you're looking for. it has it's pros and cons, i have a home there right now, but in reality i'm still a displaced swg vet looking for a new game. seriously.. 2+ years and i still can't find a game/community to hold my extended interest. ryzom could have been the closest, but i had absolutely horrible lag, shortly before they closed i actually considered switching to a new isp to try and reduce my lag.

I am willing to take a longer trek then 60 hours.  I just want a game where it will take 18 game play days to get to max level.  I am flexible.

So far all I have seen is EQ2 and LOTR.  Is that really all there is for endgame content.

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to reach max level in each game, please.

I would say that GuildWars holds alot of what you want. Nothing for crafting or houses tho. But fast to max lvl..usually a couple days, mostly PvE quests n not a bad story to it. It has a few good classes and is in english. And has an endgame...once you beat the boss at the end...that is pretty much it.

If you want housing and good crafting and lots of PvE then I would say Ultima Online or SWG. Both let you decorate your own house. Have questing n PvE. But both of those are sandbox games...you do pretty much what you want, so don't expect a big story from either game.

I would suggest EverQuest 2 as your possible game.  However, it will take longer than 60 hours to make top level.  I would also suggest a good higher level guild that doesn't mind casual players and one that is somewhat family oriented.  They tend to be more mature.  You simply aren't going to find a newer game out there that doesn't have folks under the age of 18.  A good guild with mature players is certainly the way to help make EQ 2 an enjoyable experience.

Crafting is absolutely wonderful in this game as well.

You might also look into Vanguard as an alternative.  It too has a nice crafting system.  I would, however not use these forums for information on Vanguard.  Although, recently I have noticed many posts are beginning to be more positive, there are just simply too many negative comments for the forum to be objective.  SoE has come in and basically cleaned up some bugs in the game and it is still being worked on, however it vastly improved.  I, myself was a beta tester for Vanguard, and may be coming back to the game if I can hook up with a good guild.

Good luck to you on your search!
