Most of the fighting involves getting up close unless your sniper. Hacknet doesn't really show a whole lot just some pretty graphics. I didn't see any new mobs all i saw were bats,decayed horrors,
decayed brutes,crabs,reaperspiders,grim persecutor,swamp mage,raptor, maybe a doom reaper,small reaper or grim chaser can't really tell in the trailer since alot of the mobs use the same skins.I had my hopes up for the trailer but it really didn't show anything we didn't already know.
The thing is, and I probably should have mentioned this before you lot trod all over this thread (
), that the graphic in the trailer is mostly not made up of Beyond Dome of York graphics, and the battles have been shot on the current test server.
This trailer is an appetizer for people who haven't heard of Neocron, or are just thinking of coming back and playing.
A true Beyond Dome of York trailer will be out later, rest assured.
They have souped up to DirectX9 for BDOY. Also in the demo everywhere you see a person with a weapon in their hands it was recorded using the NC engine. They mention this on the forums, but there will be further demos once beta starts.
Yes it was staged for the demo. They got some of the long term players and brought them to Test Server to fight. Test Server has the aircrafts.
Snipers and droners attack from range. Rest is close range, unless your using Rhinos (Tanks) which tends to be mid-long range.
Yea, I wish they would show more. From what I can gather you hack your way into hacknet, then your body becomes a program within hacknet and other things that have a link to hacknet can be attacked/hacked to effect the outside world. For example getting to an outposts Genrep, or disabling/taking control of turrets. Of course this is speculation based on what has been said so far.
Yea, they were filmed on the NC engine. I am not sure how many new mobs are going to be in the game, although they do add 1 to 2 new mobs every month or so. The Latest patch brought over 20 new zones with lethal mobs (DOY Tunnel system).
beatbox is the same name as one of Pitspawn/Polarity's chars in DaoC, so my question now would be:

I am interested to see why you won't let people make their own minds up on a game, people have different views so just because you dislike/dispise the game does not mean the next person will.
beatbox, I played NC for more than 1½ years, and I turned away from with a whole-heartedly good experience, and I know many others who have had only (or mostly) good experiences with NC, so it would be awesome if you would respect the fact that not all people have had crap experiences with NC and KK.
Just trying to get this thread down to the ground.
did you ever stop to think that the reason you had such a bad experience was yourself?
if you stopped being a dick, people might actually have wanted to do stuff with you.

as for the fighting, there was a lot of AOE stuff, more so at the ops battles, often they do start with AOE spam, but imo they should of shown more of the PP3 fight rather than 2 seconds of it.
but the video was still good.
the video was more to show a breif overview of neocron rather than indepth look at whats going tohappen.
still it should bring in some new people who see it, its 100% better than the mock fo a video they released at start of neocron
I think the trailer was good, i was just hoping it would show more about BDoY than we already knew.I'm sure the trailer would draw new players though.I suppose i shouldn't worry too much because BDoY is nearing release soon. I really can't wait to see what kind of new stuff it brings.
