Ok, obviously no one pays attention to the Darkfall forums at all, otherwise you would know that they are already in CLAN BETA, which is a form of closed beta, for clans only.
They will soon be having seperate single-player beta where lots of seperate non-clan related peeps can play a closed beta, after that I expect they will be getting ready for the open beta and shortly after that the release of the full game, where everyone will be crapping their pants and saying ZOMG ITS OUT!?!?!1 one
lol, so yeah itll be out in due time, all we CAN do is wait for it and maybe get into that closed beta before the regular beta.
I hope this game is good but it has about a 30% chance of living up to expectations. I remember when I first heard about Dark and Light I was like "this game is going to be the greatest" and I told my friends, I talked about it in blogs, I was so happy that a game like that was coming out. Now if the company ever makes another game probably no one will play it because it was such a bad experience.
Here is my recommendation to them. If they do a closed beta and it gets good word then bring it out and let all the people who talked badly about the game eat their words. BUT if the game doesn't get a good word, if there are a lot of bugs, and if those bugs aren't easily fixed, then quit while your a head. They do not want their first game to be an epic fail because that can ruin a company. If they can sell it to someone who can fix it or sell it to Sony who brings out bad games anyway, then great. Otherwise just take it as a learning experience and try and make another game, learning from the mistakes you made in the first game.
There is a virtually inexhaustible supply of naive, irrational, inexperienced, ignorant, hopeful and desperate etc. people willing to pledge there fanatical support to this game despite the facts staring them in the face, as long as the dark fall developers continue to say beta soon and make wild unsubstantiated promises they will be there to cheer lead them on. So there’s no reason for them to not maintain at least the façade of substantial developmental progress indefinitely and making promises and announcements that come and go unfulfilled , which could be argued is what they have been doing so from the beginning. Of course there’s always the possibility of the project being put on indefinite hold, which is normally the fate of overly ambitious projects that have made very little progress over an extended period of time finally accepting reality. But it would almost be irrelevant to announce dark falls development as being on indefinite hold since the progress of dark fall has been almost imperceptibly inseparable from projects on indefinite hold for long periods of its development since its announcement.
Big words don't make your statement correct. You act as if thousands of people don't do anything except wait for Darkfall to come out. I'd be willing to bet at least 90% of the people that roam the DF forums play other games to have fun. What people support is the idea of darkfall, and what we hope will bring to the MMO community. Once the beta is released, then people will start supporting the game. Supporting an idea is great for many reasons. It shows the developers that there is someone/something to work for. So they will work harder, and release a product that people have been waiting for, for a very long time. There is nothing like Darkfall that is truly worth playing right now. UO had its time, and was an amazing game. Lacked Graphics. Shadowbane.. same thing. SWG had this type of freedom, until we saw the NGE. Every potential game that has the type of freedom as Darkfall advertises, has for the most part been crushed in one way or another.
So go ahead and act like you don't understand why people support this idea of a game we one day hope to play. Go ahead and do your best to bring down the support for this game. Won't happen unless someone of actual importance says this game wont be released. Fortunately, that someone is not you.

Some whine and complain, others talk trash, and the rest sit back and eat popcorn. You fit into the trash talking category. For the most part I eat popcorn, but occasionally I like to feed the sharks. Oh.. and about those trashy pig darkfall community people.. Well, I'd imagine they are a fairly pissed off group of people. You see, every game that has been created (with the exception of EvE and maybe AC?) that is a sandbox type mmo, has been turned into utter crap by its devs. Everytime I hear the word Trammel or NGE.. I admit I get a little raged.

In classic UO I was one of the big PK's, I stayed within the top 10 pkers on the banks billboard. My closed UO account has 3 GM made reward sashes for winning PvP events. I played SB from its release to this day, I was PKing lastnight as I do every night. Did you just find out about Darkfall? Or are you just one of the official DF forum people luring people to the official forums for a verbal attack? I did follow DF for years only to be let down by BSers, the dev's. After seeing how god awfull the DF community is after so long... im done. DF can kiss my arse. The DF community wants players to join and then they chase them off with harsh verbal attacks.
Go to the forums on the official website of the new game in works called Earthrise. Earthrise is like Darkfall in so many ways and its community is far from Darkfalls... and I mean faaaaaaaar. And yes.

Darkfall is as much a real game as AoC has PvP, the devs said so, there are pics of it, people claim they've played it, it says so in the internez.
Yet they both only exist in theory, there's no beta for neither of them.
SOE doesn't even know this game exists nor would they care about buying it even they did.
