Pets are usually obtained after solving a quest (the pet quest series begin at lvl 20 or so if I'm not mistaking and their purpose is to teach you how to take care of the pets and stuff like that; you also get a temporary pet in the process). You get your permanent pet companion al lvl 30. The other way was to get a complete set of letters (X M A S) and give it to Santa; one of the optional rewards was a pet egg (that's why ppl are bragging about having 10 - 20 pets in the warehouse). Pets' stats do slightly differ, so it's better to test 'em and see which one is best for you. It's also important how much savvy a pet has, because 1 savvy = 1 skill (you get skills on your pet by feeding it with pieces of gear: armors, weapons). I don't know how to exactly determine which skill is more likely your pet would get (some say the skills are pre determined on the pets), so having more pets might come in handy (pets with just running skills are good for commercial trades, while the ones with let's say garrote or critical are very good for training and pvp).

That's a very good description of the pet system. Just to add, this game is free and will be free; but it does have an item mall built in for those who wants to pay money. There are 3 different classes of pets, primary, junior, and senior. The ones from quests are primary--you can also buy from 20k in game currency. Junior and senior require real money to buy, but they give better boosts to the characters relative to primary, and are attained via the item mall. In my opinion, the items are too expensive now and hopefully will bring down the price.

dragulea, what's your ingame name? lol, you seem so active. give me a whisper, I want to be friends. ingame name is billis. =)

Hehe, giving you my ingame name would be pointless, since I quit (somewhere pass the 80 lvl). As to why: because I discovered it's almost  impossible to build a decent toon without spending real cash in the item shop - the characters are too gear and pet dependent (I know players who get KO at lvl 150sh by lvl 120 players because they're using primary lvl pets with lvl 60 gear, while their opponets have full geared senior pets). And I don't fancy too much pvp centered games (I prefer the pve oriented ones)...but I always find time to support the things I consider worthy; just because I don't like pvp and especially pking so much, doesn't mean other won't like it either, nor that the game is bad - and like I said, Zu is a great game for the ones that like to fight other players and don't mind getting ganked. I made my decision and I'll stick to it, but I won't burst other ppls' bubble and if I can help with some advice from my personal experience with the game, why not ?

Truth be told, IMO the game is too nerfed in order to force you spend real money in the item mall (and considering the high paced lvl system, that means within a month from joining the game at most). I like to spend money in order to gain the upper hand (ie "let me choose if and when to upgrade from free playing to a paying customer"), but I don't like to be forced to choose either spending my money or stop leveling at all - that's why I quit Hero although playing since the first days of OB.
