how on earth can darkfall even manage to come any where close to WoW ... or any other game you mentioned in that list.

This topic is more about the agressive spam manuver many darkfall fanbois are pulling in every single forum, I don't want to read about it, but I can't advoid it either since they go to the forums of the games Im interested in, there will be a spam message in every single decent game's forum here in mmorpg. And it's getting quite annoying actually.
Because the mental image Darkfall fans have in their heads are probably very different from Darkfall reality. As long as there is very little real info released on the game, we're free to let our imaginations run wild, and the game will seem to be much better than it really is.
I've yet to find any game that lived up to my expectations when it was released. Right now, I'm trying to hold down my enthusiasm for AoC and WAR, because in my head, I just know they're going to be the greatest games ever released. In reality, they'll probably be good, but will have their own share of problems.
Where to start?
1. Well Darkfal has been in development for 7 years and has had beta promised for 4.
2. The graphics look very dated nowadays.
3. The majority of forum Users are getting tired of all the rehashed preview videos of darkfall basically as an example one video came out 3 years ago to premier Darkfalls features then 12 months ago it was 'Premiered' again as a brand new video.
4. This game frankly when you consider all the failed Betas its had and all the features its supposed to have sounds like a big fantasy.
5. The Darkfall team has repeatedly refused opportunities for well known games Journalists to review Darkfall yet we repeatedly get random guild leaders who happened to be travelling through Europe to pop over to review it themselves and its always the same type of review. This has created the impression that they don't want real people to see there game. [real as in a known journalist]
6. To sum it up Darkfall has become a bit of a joke.

Threads on the Darkfall forums will be way better.
It all comes in waves. Some time ago it was a WoW hate campaign, followed by a WAR vs. AoC wave and so on. Currently it's a Darkfall fanboi fest.

Got bored of WurmOnline. So I'm stuck here playing oblivion and it's construction set until another real player controled world comes along since I don't like the skill setup of EvE(I consider it a bastardization of what a skill based game should have: passive skills that always work with no active requirement(power grid mangement and a few dozen others), tier-ation of various things. it's nearly standard leveling since it destroys the real adavantages of having a skill based system. Atleast it makes a whole lot more sense than leveling though so it gets a bonus there).
I'll be messing around in second life as well since I get paid to do so since people like the work I do(it's fun and extremely simple scripting, I get to show off, and make enough to buy a few more books in the year).
edit: I'm not stupid enough to expect a MMO to last me forever and ever. Almost two fun years of building and playing with people is damn good in this market.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
