I have a level 25 minstrel before I quit a year ago. I quit because I got frustrated playing a minstrel and trying to solo a quest (solo quest mind you) is frustrating due to lack of offensive power for the class. How is the class nowadays ? I heard they gave minstrels more offensive power from builds. Is there much improvement or will it be the same?

Minstrels have a stance they can go into that greatly increases their damage output, but reduces healing by 50%.  Supposedly they are one of the better solo classes now.  You would probably like it.

LOTRO- Guardian Wrymstrum & Lore-master Stabler on Nimrodel.

Conan- Zoltar <Angels of Death> Guardian on Stormrage.

I wrote this in another thread, but I am in love with my minstrel (in a totally plutonic way ofcourse).  I can solo pretty much everything I come up against, including bosses of the same level.  I soloed Great Barrows (at lvl 38-39 I believe) for a group of lvl12-14 players all the way till the last boss ( I could not handle the adds and the team could not touch them), which I was surprized.

Minstrels now get WarCry which is the stance previously mentioned

3 AoE's - Call to Elder King / Call of the Second Age / Call of Valor (?)

Traited Unrelenting Cry - approx 35-45% crit = 10 second stun

Traited Harolds Strike - 200% Dmg Harolds Strike x3 + Healing

Throw in a couple balads and a heal when necessary and you can easily handle 2-3 mobs of the same level constantly.

My Min is now level 47 and climbing and my alts are sitting the bench crafting because I am having so much fun on my this character.

Sorry if a couple of my names are off, I am on my lunch break at work and going off memory.

I can only speak about Brandywine, but it seems to very active at different hours of the day even from 11PM-1AM.  I personally can not get into it as it is so far removed from the balanced PvP I am used to.  It is hard to get my head around it.

From what I can see it is mostly Group A vs Monster Group A and they stand around shooting arrows at eachother until someone on one side steps a little too far away from the mob and gets jumped.  While this is happening there are a couple smaller fights going on here and there.  I will say it is highly unbalanced, but as been told to me many times that is how it is meant to be...based on lore, because it is supposed to be the small forces of good versus the massed forces of darkness.

With book 12 tomorrow I am sure that things are going to be pretty wild as people fighting to be the first to see what the new PvMP dungeon/instance is like.

The PvP is always active, at least on my server (Elendilmir). I go into the PvMP zone probably 3-4 nights a week and there's almost always a group of people trying to hold one of the keeps, or trying to take over more of them. The new dungeon in the zone in Book 12 will most likely bring even more activity.

I did, and realised, it is still the same game, and i dont think that armor custom will make it worth comming back...it has to be the most simplistic, dumbed down game since WoW....excellent graphics....but i dont feel like buying a new keyboard cuz i drooled on it out of boredom

Are there more quests in the mid 40s?  I stopped playing a good 6+ months ago because I ran out of quests.  And I hate running out of quests.

The world is full of quests now, you can solo from lvl 1 to 50 if you like.

At level 45, I had about 25-30 (not outleveled) non-gray quests in my tracker with about 2/3 of those close to my level. I don't see any lack of quests on any portion of the 1-50 leveling curve.

Yeah back when the game started in Feb 2007 there were no soloable quest around level 40..every quest past 40 was group-required quest.. it's good they added a ton of solo quest for the last 10 levels. Back then minstrels were healbots and you can't solo well at all (can barely beat a 1 on 1 fight with a level 30-35 mob non-elite) but I'm glad they gave minstrels some better offensive abilities.
