I've done many missions and questwith players who have heroes. I asked how to get them and they said they aren't available in th eProphecies campaign. And the next game I am thinking about buying is factions, are heroes available in this game? Thanks.

No, I'm afraid you can only get heroes from Nightfall and Eye Of the North. For more information on them, try checking this out: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Hero

"Big surprise... there was no protection by this urban light..."
yep only Nightfall and Eye of The North have em.
Getting Nightfall and Eye of the North are toataly worth the money, add a lot of content and armor looks. but thats just what i think.
If you're considering getting heroes you can only get them from (as stated above) Eye of the North and Nightfall. I however posted to say that I would recommend Nightfall rather than Eye of the North as I consider Nightfall superior in pretty much every way.
I have to agree on the Nightfall being superior.
also i would like to add that there are more variety of heroes in nightfall. you have a bunch of each profession
in GW:EN you have one of each profession and 3 are not even human. one is a.... i really dont know what to compare vekk to... a gremlin? then you have a dwarf a giant woman and a charr. i would actually prefer to keep them all human, but that is my taste.
Its a lead in to Guild Wars 2 where we can play all these races apart from Dwarf... Its advertising
Playing as different races would be cool.

My current Guild Wars character:
Dauthix The Avenger (Paragon/Ranger)
ill make a Sylvari Ranger and a Charr Warrior if those professions will still be available

Have they said if they are going to have any new classes?
Actually Nightfall both has and unlocks Heroes. There is a necromancer Hero in Ascalon but you need to have unlocked heroes via buying Nightfall (or maybe EON) to get him. When nightfall was first released you could only get the necro hero if you had both Prophecies and Nightfall. Similarly there is an Assassin hero you had to have Nightfall and Factions to get.
Not sure how that works with EON now. But just to clarify some heroes require multiple campaigns.
