Holy Crap, FFXII movie...is it CGI or real?

el_Slackoel_Slacko Member Posts: 310

Wow, now lets see if I can get this to work...nope, it wont link, but go here for the page to the image. For a whole there, I actually couldnt tell if that was CGI or live footage. The other pics in the gallery arent that great looking since they were shrinked or saved wrong, but the footage from the cgi movies is damn amazing. The game is also using a modified type of real time combat similar to the combat in dot.hack, but more evolved and controllable.

Really looks to be a good game. I know it isnt an MMOG, so sue me image

that FMV, standard for a final fantasy game. Ps2 could never render something like that lol

Correction: The graphics on that game looks freaken awesome.

    That's a CGI picture.

I do hope that this game will have a better storyline than most other Final Fantasy's though. The combat system looks pretty good though.

Yea, the PS2 could prolly render that. It might take it a sec to load it, but it could render it since its pre-created.

Well, the video game shop I go to says it's release date is 02/14/2005 (EB Games).

And, he asked if that is a picture from a FMV or in-game picture. The guy who replied to it just said that the ps2 can never render a pic like that if it is a in-game picture, not FMV.

Alright, you can just go ahead and tell me what an FMV is now image

But im guessing its a computer-rendered image of a movie that will be toned down to be put on the PS2. But still, even with 20% less detail, itll still look beyond good. the limiting factor willprolly be my television and not the PS2.

Hmm, february is winter....bah thatd be nice wouldnt it?

That is not standard. It looks better than the FMVs from FFX, and possibly FFX-2. It seems to have better textures and more detail.

FMV is the cut-scenes in all of the Final Fantasy's, lol. The better-looking parts. Like when you finish the game, you'll see a FMV.

....*cough* you mean a movie? a cgi?....thats what i said it was to begin with! *grabs the big stick*

well i knew that the game couldnt render those graphics in a game-setting, thats why I had said CGI(computer generated image. or at least thats the acronym that makes the most sense) to begin with. Oh well, FMV, CGI, same thing and I get to be right image

I'm going to have to say I don't care what the game is like at all. I could care less what the content is. The graphics look so awesome! Even in game play! Not just the movie portions.

The gameplay concept is supposed to be like .Hack, an offline MMORPG.  Some of it sounds incredible like being able to participate in raids and large battles.

Looks retarded to me.  ANyone can make a movie, a game is a different story.  FFXI was totally hyped like this and it sux balls.

Personally, I dont think the graphics are that superb.

Only thing that looks good about that is the CGI, and you can get that about in any game.
