Roleplaying in RomaVictor

What about roleplaying in RomaVictor?

Honestly, it all depends on where you choose to live in-game, what guild you choose to join, and what path you choose to follow.

Some guilds are heavy into actually playing the role of someone in 2nd Century Roman Britain, some are not.

On the 18th Legion forums, we have a section where we post roleplay stories, versions of events, and screenshots of events.

These should not be taken to be typical experiences in RV, as nearly everything there pertains to the 18th Legion.  Also, some of the events depicted occur very rarely, rather than being "everyday" events.  However, it does show some of the possibilities.

If you are wondering what kinds of roleplaying opportunities can come up in RV, check it out:

The RomaVictor website itself doesn't give a very good glimpse of the roleplaying aspect of the game, so anyone interested should try to check out the websites of the various guilds, both Roman and barbarian.  It is there that you are most likely to see what the game is about.

Guildleaders who have material displayed for the public, please post here to let people see the roleplay aspect of RV.

Roleplay has ups and down in RV, it's a pity visitors still can't see C&E.

I still remember when I was playing Rubies of Eventide and suddenly there was a global message saying a marriage was going to be held. That was supposedly RP. It was crap.

When I compare that to the Ludi Romani held by the 18th, RP in RV is way better. The governor, Ulpius (played by KFR), actually took out the guildleaders off for a chat, one by one. Tactics for upcoming battles were discussed etc.

The other day, I was in Corstopitum. I saw the priest of the 18th (Torgonius) offer (well, he dropped items in the shrine) stuff to Minerva and pray while doing it. There was hardly anyone there.

There's RolePlay in RomaVictor, you just need to know where to look.

Compared to some roleplaying games RV is a good net game, but you'll find that there are many places needed to be improved if you have played for some time. and I really hope RV could become a fantasy game.
